What a great tour. I was able to book a kayak tour 30 minutes before hand. Because there were two of us that were single kayakers, we decided to pair up and use a tandem kayak. Our tour guide, Evan, was great! He was very entertaining! It was soooo neat to see the caves from the water. We were able to go into a cave. What an experience!!! Pretty neat! Thank you so much! Very comfortable and well-maintained (and fully charged) e-bikes. Friendly staff. Make sure to scan the QR code for their suggested bike route. Note that the majority of the suggested route uses roads, but the speed limit for cars is 35 mph and 25 mph, and road traffic is very light. My 11 year old son and I greatly enjoyed the ride. Definitely worth it. The whole suggested route without stops takes less than 2 hours. More like 1.5 hours.

We had such a great experience on our kayaking trip! Even though the water was a bit too choppy for us to go into the caves, our guide Eli made the entire experience so enjoyable. He was incredibly personable from the start and made sure everyone felt comfortable and confident before we even got in the water. Throughout the trip, Eli kept the energy up with great conversation, interesting facts about Door County, and just the right amount of humor. When we hit some rougher conditions, he stayed calm, empathetic, and handled the situation with positivity and professionalism—making sure we all felt safe and still had a good time. His ability to balance being laid-back and social with being a reassuring and prepared guide really stood out.Even without the caves, we learned so much and had a blast. Highly recommend this trip—and if you get Eli as your guide, you’re in great hands!

Awesome tour with our guide, Levi! Highlights were getting out to swim at Devil’s Bathtub and watching Levi “joust” with another tour guide (even though he lost both times and ended up in the drink). Would highly recommend!

It’s the Journey, not the Destination

Door County Kayak Tours, LLC. is a family owned company Paddling in the beautiful Peninsula of Door County for over 15 years.

David first experiences kayaking was following his kayak guide uncle up the Mink River when he was 13. They even built a skin and frame kayak and that was his main kayak he used.

He then became a Door County kayak guide at the age of 17 and traveled out to Maui to kayak guide at the age of 19. The main kayak tour he guided in Maui, had people swimming with the dolphins and along the rugged lava flows of La Perouse Bay. Every summer he would come back to Door County to guide and explore the area. Most of the beginning years were kayaking the Mink River Estuary and Door Bluff Headlands Park.
