🚨🛳️ IT’S THE WEEKEND BEFORE WE CRUISE!!! 🛳️🚨

And you know what that means…

✨ VACATION PREP CHAOS HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN. ✨ 😂

Before I can sail away without a care in the world, apparently I have to take care of… real life. UHG. 🤣

This weekend’s agenda:

💸 Pay the bills — because apparently they still expect payment while I’m floating around the Caribbean. Rude.

💻 Send out quotes & collect payments — vacations aren’t going to book themselves! 😂

🏠 Stock the house for the teen + my mom, who will be holding down the fort.

💇‍♀️ Hair appointment tomorrow — CRITICAL cruise preparation.

💅 Nails — also critical. Obviously.

🎯 Target run for “last-minute necessities,” which we all know means spending $200 when I went in for four things. 😂

🧺 Laundry — because apparently I own absolutely no clothes until the week before vacation.

And then…

🧳 THE OVERPACKING BEGINS.

Not packing.

OVERPACKING. 😂

Because what if I need 14 outfits, 9 pairs of shoes, 6 swimsuits and three completely different personalities while I’m gone?! 🤷‍♀️🤣

But NEXT WEEKEND…

🌴 Caribbean sunshine
🍹 Cocktails
🌊 Ocean views
🚢 ALLURE OF THE SEAS!

So yes, this weekend I’ll be paying bills, stocking the house, answering messages, sending quotes, collecting payments, making Target richer, getting beautified AND attempting to fit half my closet into a suitcase. 😂

And don’t worry — I’ll have internet onboard! 📱🚢 I’ll still be available if you need me, AND I’ll be posting along the way so you can follow all of our cruise adventures! 🌴🍹🌊

We've talked about the BIG shows. 🎭

We've talked about everything you can do during the day. ☀️

We've talked about doing absolutely nothing by the pool. 🍹

But eventually the sun goes down…

And Royal Caribbean says:

OH, YOU THOUGHT WE WERE DONE?! 😂💃

Nope.

Because nighttime onboard can be a WHOLE different vibe.

And the best part?

You can choose YOUR version of a night out.

🎶 WANT SOMETHING CHILL?

Grab a drink and find some live music.

Depending on your ship, you might find:

🎹 Piano music
🎸 Pub singers
🎺 Live bands
💃 Latin music
🎤 Vocalists
🎶 Schooner Bar sing-alongs

Sometimes these end up being my favorite nights because there's absolutely NO plan.

You hear good music…

Sit down for one drink…

And three hours later you're still there. 😂🍹

🎤 FEELING BRAVE?

There's KARAOKE.

And as we established earlier, cruise karaoke has three kinds of people:

🎤 The person who can ACTUALLY sing.

😂 The person who absolutely cannot sing and KNOWS it.

😳 And the person who absolutely cannot sing and does NOT know it.

All three are necessary for a successful evening. 😂👏

💃 WANT TO PARTY?

Now we're talking.

Depending on the ship and sailing, you may find:

🎧 DJs
💃 Dance parties
🤫 Silent discos
🪩 Theme parties
🎶 Live bands
🌴 Pool-deck parties
🎉 Promenade parties

And can we talk about the SILENT DISCO for a second?

Everyone gets headphones.

Different music channels are playing.

You choose what YOU want to hear.

Which means half the room may be dancing to one song while the other half is dancing to something completely different.

Take your headphones off and…

It's just a room full of people dancing in silence. 😂😂

Absolutely ridiculous. Absolutely fun.

😂 THEN THERE'S THE LATE-NIGHT COMEDY & ADULT GAME SHOWS…

This is where things can get a little more…

UNFILTERED. 😳😂

Some ships/sailings have adult comedy, late-night games and activities that are definitely meant for the grown-ups.

And then…

Ohhhh, then…

😈 THERE'S THE QUEST.

If you know…

YOU KNOW. 😂😂😂

If you DON'T know…

The Quest is Royal Caribbean's legendary adults-only scavenger-hunt-style game show where teams compete in increasingly ridiculous challenges.

And that's about as much as I'm going to tell you.

Because part of the fun of The Quest is walking in for the first time thinking:

“How crazy could this possibly be?”

And walking out thinking:

“WHAT DID I JUST WITNESS?!” 😂😳

My advice?

Go.

Sit where you can see.

And if you're shy…

Maybe don't sit TOO close. 😂

🎰 OR MAYBE THE CASINO IS CALLING YOUR NAME…

Slots.

Table games.

Tournaments.

And that dangerous little thought:

“I'll just stop in for a few minutes…”

Sure you will. 😂🎰

Just remember — unlike most of the entertainment we've been talking about today, gambling is obviously NOT included in your cruise fare. Your donation to the casino is entirely your own. 😂💸

🍸 OR… YOU CAN JUST GO BAR HOPPING!

And this is another place where…

🚢 THE SHIP MATTERS!

One ship might have:

🎹 Schooner Bar
🎸 English pub
🍸 Boleros
🍷 Vintages
🎶 Music Hall
🌴 Lime & Coconut

While another ship has completely different venues and nightlife.

You don't even have to drink!

Grab a mocktail, find some music, people-watch and enjoy being out on a ship in the middle of the ocean. 🌊❤️

🌙 AND THAT'S WHAT I LOVE ABOUT ROYAL AFTER DARK…

You can dress up and see a show.

Dance until WAY too late.

Sing karaoke.

Listen to live music.

Try your luck in the casino.

Laugh until your stomach hurts at a game show.

Experience The Quest and question humanity. 😂

OR…

Grab a drink, find a quiet spot outside and watch the ocean go by.

THERE IS NO ONE “RIGHT” WAY TO DO NIGHTTIME ON A CRUISE. ❤️🚢

But here's my warning:

You WILL eventually look at the time and say…

“HOW IS IT 1:00 IN THE MORNING?!” 😳

…and then remember you scheduled an excursion for 7:30 AM.

THAT'S TOMORROW-YOU'S PROBLEM. 😂😂🚢

We've spent this morning talking about shows, trivia, activities, games and ALL the things you can do on a Royal Caribbean ship…

But can I tell you one of my favorite cruise activities?

FINDING A CHAIR AND STAYING THERE. 😂🍹

Because not every sea day needs an itinerary.

Sometimes the plan is simply:

☀️ Sunshine
🌊 Ocean views
🏊 Pool
💦 Hot tub
🍹 Cold drink
😴 Maybe a nap

THAT'S IT. THAT'S THE SCHEDULE. 😂

🏊 LET'S TALK POOLS!

Royal Caribbean ships have multiple pool areas, but exactly what you'll find depends on your ship.

There may be:

💦 Main pools
🏖️ Resort-style pools
👧 Family/splash areas
🌊 Pools overlooking the ocean
🎉 Livelier pool-deck areas with music and activities

Some ships are built for that huge, energetic resort-at-sea feeling…

Others give you a more traditional pool deck.

And you already know what I'm going to say:

🚢 THE SHIP MATTERS!
♨️ AND THEN THERE ARE THE HOT TUBS…

This is SUCH a cruise thing for me.

Sitting in a hot tub…

On a ship…

In the middle of the ocean…

Watching absolutely nothing except the water go by.

10/10. No notes. 😂🌊

Depending on the ship, you'll find hot tubs in different locations — including some with pretty spectacular ocean views.

And then…

🌿 THERE'S THE SOLARIUM.

Ahhhhh. 😍

This is where I go when I've decided I've had enough of everyone. 😂

Royal Caribbean's Solarium is the quieter, adults-only pool-deck retreat on most ships, typically for guests 18+. Depending on the ship, you may find pools, hot tubs, loungers and beautiful ocean views in a more peaceful atmosphere.

And because Royal apparently likes keeping us on our toes…

The Solarium is NOT identical from ship to ship.

Some are enclosed or partially covered.

Some are open-air.

Some have pools.

Some have different layouts and water features.

And Icon Class does things differently, with adults-only The Hideaway taking the place of the traditional Solarium experience on Icon and Star.

So if having a quiet adults-only retreat is important to you…

That's something we can actually consider when choosing your ship. 🚢❤️

☀️ HERE'S YOUR PERMISSION TO HAVE A “BORING” SEA DAY.

You don't HAVE to attend trivia.

You don't HAVE to ride the FlowRider.

You don't HAVE to play mini golf.

You don't HAVE to participate in every activity just because it's happening.

Grab a book.

Find a lounger.

Get in the pool.

Move to the hot tub.

Order a drink.

Watch the ocean.

Take a nap.

Repeat as necessary. 😂🍹

Because sometimes the best thing you do on vacation is…

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. 🌊❤️

And THAT is why I love cruising.

Yesterday you can be running around a Caribbean island.

Tonight you can see a Broadway show.

But for the next few hours?

My biggest decision may be pool or hot tub. 😂

We've talked about everything you can do during the day.

We've even talked about doing absolutely NOTHING by the pool. 😂🍹

But here's something first-time cruisers don't always realize:

A LOT OF ROYAL CARIBBEAN'S ENTERTAINMENT & ACTIVITIES ARE ALREADY INCLUDED IN YOUR CRUISE FARE! 🙌🚢

Seriously.

Depending on your ship, you could have access to:

🎭 Broadway & original production shows
🤿 Aqua shows
🧊 Ice-skating shows
🎤 Karaoke
🧠 Trivia & Name That Tune
😂 Game shows
🎶 Live music
💃 Dance parties & classes
🏊 Pool games & competitions
🧗 Rock climbing
🌊 FlowRider
⛳ Mini golf
🏀 Sports courts
🧊 Open ice skating
🎠 Carousel rides
🎬 Movies
🎉 Deck parties
…and MORE!

And yes, some of those are absolutely a:

“WAIT… THAT'S FREE?!” 😳

kind of moment.

Because if you were doing some of this on a land vacation, you'd be pulling your credit card out every five minutes. 😂💳

🎟️ BUT… INCLUDED DOESN'T ALWAYS MEAN “JUST SHOW UP.”

Some of Royal's most popular entertainment requires or offers reservations, depending on the ship and show.

But this is important:

A RESERVATION ≠ A CHARGE. 🙌

You're not buying a ticket.

You're just reserving your spot for an entertainment experience that's already included!

📱 If reservations are available before your cruise, I recommend grabbing the shows you REALLY want to see.

BUT DON'T PANIC IF THE SHOW YOU WANT LOOKS FULL! 😳

🚨 NO RESERVATION DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN NO SHOW!

There is usually a standby line for guests who don't have reservations.

Once the reserved guests have been seated, available seats can be opened to people waiting in standby.

So if you couldn't snag a reservation:

👉 Show up EARLY
👉 Find the standby line
👉 Be patient
👉 And you may very well still get in! 🙌🎭

People cancel.

People change plans.

People simply don't show up.

And availability can change once you're onboard.

So PLEASE don't see “sold out” in the app and automatically decide:

“Well, I guess we're not seeing that.”

Nope. 😂

If it's something you REALLY want to see, GO TRY!

💰 NOW… IS EVERYTHING ONBOARD INCLUDED?

Nope!

There are definitely activities and experiences that cost extra.

Depending on your ship, you may find additional charges for things like:

🧩 Escape rooms
🕹️ Arcade games
🎰 Casino gaming
🎨 Certain classes or workshops
🎯 Some premium experiences

So when you're looking through the app, pay attention to whether there's an additional charge.

❤️ BUT HERE'S WHAT I LOVE…

You do NOT have to spend a fortune onboard to have an incredible cruise.

You can watch a Broadway musical.

See people dive from a ridiculously high platform into a tiny pool while you question all of their life choices. 😂🤿

Watch professional ice skaters.

Sing karaoke.

Play trivia.

Ride the FlowRider.

Climb a rock wall.

Dance at a deck party.

Listen to live music.

Spend the afternoon at the pool.

And then go see ANOTHER show after dinner.

ALL WITHOUT BUYING AN “ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE.” 🙌🎭🚢

There is SO MUCH already built into the price of your cruise.

And, of course…

Not every Royal Caribbean ship has the same shows, venues, attractions or activities.

Which means I'm contractually obligated by the theme of this week to say it again. 😂👇

“But… what do you DO all day?”

Ohhhhh friend. 😂

The better question might be:

HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT NOT TO DO?!

Because Royal Caribbean can have something happening from the time you finish breakfast until you're wondering why you're still awake at midnight. 😂

And NO — I'm not just talking about waterslides and rock walls.

I'm talking about the completely random, ridiculously fun stuff that somehow becomes one of your favorite parts of the cruise.

🎤 TRIVIA, TRIVIA & MORE TRIVIA
Music trivia. Movie trivia. General trivia. Decades trivia. Name That Tune.

And let me tell you…

People take cruise ship trivia WAY more seriously than you would expect. 😂🏆

There may be no cash prize.

There may be a Royal Caribbean pen at stake.

FRIENDSHIPS WILL STILL BE TESTED. 😂

😂 THEN COME THE GAME SHOWS…

This is where things start getting entertaining.

Couples games.
Finish-the-lyric games.
Name That Tune.
Audience participation games.
Family games.
Adult games.

Sometimes participating is hilarious.

Sometimes sitting in the audience watching OTHER people participate is even better. 😂🍿

😳 And the person who thinks they're REALLY good.

All three are entertaining.

Depending on your ship, you can wander into:

Sometimes you don't even plan on staying.

You walk by…

Hear a song you like…

And suddenly it's an hour later and you're still there. 😂

🏄 AND THEN THERE'S THE ACTIVE STUFF!

THIS is where our theme for the week comes roaring back because what's available depends heavily on your ship.

Depending on which Royal Caribbean ship you're sailing, you could find things like:

🧗 Rock climbing

🪂 Zip lining
🛝 Waterslides
🧊 Ice skating
🔫 Laser tag
🧩 Escape rooms
🏀 Sports courts
🎠 And some completely over-the-top attractions on the newest ships

You could literally need a vacation after your vacation if you tried to do everything. 😂

USE THE ROYAL CARIBBEAN APP! 📱

Once you're onboard and that daily schedule fills up…

Go through it and ❤️ heart the things that sound fun.

They'll show up in your personal calendar and make it MUCH easier to keep track of what you wanted to do.

Otherwise you'll be sitting somewhere eating pizza when suddenly you realize:

“WAIT!!! TRIVIA STARTED FIVE MINUTES AGO!” 😱🍕😂

Ask me how I know.

🚢 BUT HERE'S WHAT I REALLY LOVE ABOUT CRUISING…

You can be the person whose day looks like:

8:00 — Breakfast
9:00 — Trivia
10:00 — Dance class
11:00 — Pool competition
12:00 — Lunch
1:00 — Game show
2:00 — Mini golf
3:00 — More trivia
4:00 — Karaoke
5:00 — Somehow MORE FOOD 😂

OR…

You can wake up.

Eat breakfast.

Find a chair overlooking the ocean.

Order a drink.

And accomplish absolutely NOTHING. 🍹🌊

BOTH PEOPLE ARE CRUISING CORRECTLY. 😂🙌

That's one of the things I love most about a cruise.

You can do EVERYTHING.

Or you can do absolutely nothing.

And you don't have to decide which kind of cruiser you're going to be until you wake up that morning. ❤️🚢

Because when I say “cruise ship entertainment,” I am NOT talking about somebody singing karaoke in the corner of a bar.

Although don't worry… we'll get to karaoke later. 😂

And most of the major shows?

No buying a $150 theater ticket after you board.

You just have to decide which show you're seeing first. 😂

These are MY thing. 😂

Picture an open-air theater at the back of a cruise ship…

There's a pool.

There are divers.

There are aerialists flying above you.

There are acrobats doing things that make you question every decision you've ever made about your own physical fitness. 😂

And then someone climbs WAYYYYY up there…

You think:

“They're not jumping from THAT.”

Oh yes.

YES THEY ARE. 😳🤿😂

Oasis Class gives you the outdoor AquaTheater, while Icon Class takes the experience into the incredible AquaDome.

And since I'll be on Allure VERY soon…

🎶🤿 Aqua80Too — I'M COMING FOR YOU! 😂

🧊 OH… AND WE PUT AN ICE RINK ON THE SHIP TOO.

Because of course we did. 😂

Seriously.

You can spend the afternoon sitting beside a Caribbean pool with a frozen drink…

Then walk inside and watch professional skaters jumping, spinning and flying across an ICE RINK.

In the middle of the ocean.

Sometimes I think we don't appreciate how completely ridiculous cruise ships are. 😂🚢

🎬 AND THAT'S JUST THE BIG STUFF!

There are original productions, guest performers, comedians, singers, dancers, live bands and specialty acts too.

And the lineup changes depending on the ship.

Royal Caribbean offers room service day and night, so whether you're craving breakfast in bed, something after a long port day, or a late-night snack…

You don't necessarily have to leave your cabin. 🙌

But here's where people get confused:

☕🥐 CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST = COMPLIMENTARY!
YES — you can have a simple continental breakfast delivered to your room without the regular room-service charge. 🙌

Depending on the current menu, that can include things like:
☕ Coffee & tea
🧃 Juice
🥐 Pastries
🍞 Toast, bagels & English muffins
🥣 Cereal & oatmeal
🍎 Fruit
🥛 Yogurt

Royal specifically lists continental breakfast as complimentary room service.

For regular room-service orders, Royal currently charges:

So if two people in your cabin order several items together, you're not paying $7.95 for every entrée or every person.

It's one service charge for the order. 🙌

An 18% gratuity is automatically added to room-service purchases.
And that $7.95 service charge does NOT apply to complimentary continental breakfast. ☕🥐
