If you’ve been around Adrift for any amount of time, you probably know Carla. And if you’ve had the pleasure of riding in our Daily Van #6 (aka Carla’s van) with her, you definitely know Carla.
Carla is passionate about her work, keeps it real, and calls it like she sees it. She has a big heart, and a strong personality that has run the Split Mountain Daily Boat ramps for years.
Carla has driven the Daily road more times than anyone on this planet. At this point, she could probably drive it blindfolded, backwards, and half asleep—and we’d still trust her to get us there and back safely.
But Carla is more than just an incredible driver. She has deep roots in this place and connections to the early outlaws and characters who helped shape the history of this corner of the world. She knows the roads, the river, the stories, and the people who make this place special.
She has also worked full-time for Adrift longer—and with more loyalty—than anyone else we know. Year after year, season after season, she has shown up, put in the miles, and gotten our guides and guests where they need to go. Carla is as tough as a nail and we are sending her all the quick healing vibes we can as she navigates the next chapter of life in retirement!
