📣 Call for Art!

To help support Art Fair 14C’s mission and that of our partner, , the 5th Edition of Art Fair 14C will have a fundraiser exhibition with artwork inspired by Liberty State Park.

Artwork can be inspired by the skyline, wildlife, transportation, marinas, even the golf course. The exhibition will be a celebration of our urban oasis.

All submitted work must be original, and artists must agree to at least a 50-50 split on the proceeds from the sale of the work.  If the artist is in a position to be generous, donation of artwork would be gratefully received.

Deadline to submit: September 1

🌊⚓️ Did you know that the Marinas in Paulus Hook and LSP have a fascinating history? This waterfront destination has come a long way since its early days as an industrial pier.

🚤 The marina was established in the early 1990s as part of a larger redevelopment effort in downtown Jersey City. The site was chosen for its prime location on the Hudson River, with sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline.

🛥 Over the years, the marina has undergone several renovations and improvements to become the top-notch facility it is today. But it still retains its original mission: to provide a public space for residents and visitors to enjoy the waterfront.

🌇 Today, the Jersey City Marina is a hub of activity for boaters, kayakers, and anyone who loves the water. With 350 slips, a boat launch ramp, and ample park space, it's the perfect place to spend a sunny day with family and friends.

☀️🌇 Nothing beats a warm evening in the city! Today, we're soaking up the warmth and taking a stroll through the Newark pedestrian plaza in Jersey City. This vibrant public space is the perfect spot to relax, people-watch, and enjoy the springtime breeze.

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ With plenty of seating areas, planters, and public art installations, the Newark pedestrian plaza is a great place to gather with friends or take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. Plus, there are plenty of nearby shops and restaurants to explore!

🌳🌷🍃 We love how the plaza is filled with greenery and flowers, creating a peaceful oasis in the heart of downtown Jersey City.

Did you know that Dixon Mills, in the Van Vorst neighborhood, has a long history dating back to the mid-19th century? Originally built in 1847 as a factory for the Dixon Crucible Company, the building was instrumental in the production of graphite crucibles used in industry and science.

In the early 20th century, Dixon Mills was converted into a warehouse and storage facility, serving various industries throughout the years. But by the 1980s, the building had fallen into disrepair and was abandoned.

Fast forward to the 21st century, and Dixon Mills has been beautifully restored and transformed into a vibrant residential community, featuring modern apartments and amenities while still preserving its historic charm.

Today, Dixon Mills stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Jersey City's industrial past and its ongoing transformation into a thriving urban center.
