If you’re looking for a last minute vacation idea the Secrets Playa Blanca is only about $450 a night on Priceline in May. That’s more than half off of what I usually see it.
We just went there in Feb and it’s amazing!

There’s a great deal on mexvax for next spring at Secrets playa Blanca. I was able to reserve the oceanfront corner master suite for only $2275 for 5 nights. It’s likely a pricing mistake (room itself usually goes for $2k a night) but we will see what happens and if it canceled or not. Booked it Sunday and they didn’t cancel yet.
This is the resort but youll need to go to mexvax to book it. Search for cancun hotels.

Really difficult to find good spring break flights but I do see you can fly direct from Minneapolis on Delta Saturday march 15th to Saturday the 22nd into the new Tulum airport south of Cancun.
We just flew into that airport last month and it’s way easier than Cancun.

I’m in Mexico so a good time to look for future Mexico trips! Secrets Bahia Mita is only about $325 a night from this spring till next Christmas. Rate is refundable. One of the best rates I’ve seen for one of my favorite resorts. It’s about an hour north of puerto Vallarta. The deal is through mexvax.com location is riviera nayarit and then just choose your dates.

Secrets Bahia Mita north of Puerto Vallarta and one of my favorite resorts is only about $300 per night starting from April of 2025 and through Christmas of 2025. You have to book through mexvax.com (used this site many times and no problems).
Prices are for two at this upscale, adults only resort.

There are awesome deals on Priceline right now to Secrets and Breathless resorts in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area. Deals are now till Christmas so a bit of the off season but November and December are good times to go in my opinion once hurricane season is done. These are higher end, adults only properties.
Some of the deals I’ve seen on the hotels are $920 for four nights at the Breathless Soul, $1050 for four nights at the new Secrets Tulum, $932 at Secrets Riviera and $1492 for four nights at the new Secrets Blanca Playa Mujeres.
In addition airfare out of Des Moines into Cancun is reasonable at $450 per person.

Smoking good deal for a 3 day couples weekend to Cancun on the direct out of Kansas City on Frontier. You can do a Thursday through Sunday flight and stay at the new adults only Beachfront at the Fives for only $640 per person available most weekends through June. This is a small, boutique adults only all inclusive that I've been dying to stay at. You can use the Fives resort next door too. Available as a package through orbitz.com.

I’ve noticed that Mexico resorts are really rising in price lately especially in Cancun and Cabo. One thing contributing is the rise of the peso vs the US dollar. Once you could about get 20 pesos to the USD now it’s down to about 16.5 pesos to USD. That’s a major drop in buying power for tourists from the US. Unfortunately, I don’t see that changing anytime soon and if anything it will likely get worse.

April is a great time to head on a vacation to the tropics and I’m seeing some great flights out there direct on Delta out of Minneapolis. A variety of dates but it’s $335 to go to Cancun, $408 to puerto Vallarta and $457 to Punta Cana.
