Johnstown's own cryptid festival, Squonkapalooza 2025, is scheduled for TOMORROW, August 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM! This year, the event will be held at the Bottle Works Ethnic Arts Center, located at 411 3rd Avenue in Johnstown. The event features a variety of vendors, informative speakers discussing folklore and cryptozoology, activities for all ages, and more! 😎

The Squonk is a mythical creature said to inhabit the hemlock forests of Pennsylvania. Legend describes it as so ugly that it constantly cries, making it a sorrowful but interesting symbol in local folklore. Squonkapalooza aims to embrace this legend and turn those frowns upside down by spreading the love of the Squonk and other fascinating creatures of myth! 🤩

Celebrate Johnstown's own Steve Ditko, creator of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, at Ditko Con 2025! 🕷️ The event is coming up at the end of September at Bottle Works Arts on 3rd Avenue and features an amazing guest list, including famed comic artists for Marvel, DC, and beyond, panels featuring industry experts, estate members, and a special mural panel discussing the public art endeavours in Johnstown with the mural designers and executors! There will also be a variety of vendors throughout the venue! 📕🖊️

Downtown Ebensburg will shut down Friday, July 25th, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM for a free, live concert in the street featuring The Bachelor Boys Band! Eventgoers will enjoy this high-energy, fun, and engaging band, playing everything from top 40 to classics to classical rock! Additional events happening through the evening are live music at the American Legion Post 363, a Mechanical Bull and Outdoor Co****le at The Castle Pub, Outdoor Yoga at Veterans’ Memorial Park with Alexa Novak, and more! Downtown Shutdown kicks off the Homecoming weekend with a full schedule of events happening on Saturday, July 26th!
