We finally have some exciting news to share: a 10-day trip to southern Spain in October 2023! The trip was partially designed by Dr. John Knapp, a retired MSSU professor who lives in Bella Vista. October should be a great time to travel to Spain – the weather will be mild and the large crowds will have dissipated.

Here is John’s summary of the trip: “Join the Safari this October and experience the best of the Andalusia region of Spain on our 10-day trip with five nights in Ronda, a small town famous for its spectacular scenery, as our central hub. From there, we will use our private, air-conditioned coach to adventure through Moorish Spain with day trips to Cordoba, Seville, and Granada (where we will explore the Alhambra). Next we’ll head to central Madrid for an additional four nights with plenty of free time to explore this vibrant city, including its museums, gardens, plazas, and royal palaces. We will take one day trip, by high-speed train, to Toledo, the historic capital of Spain. With delicious food and wine, beautiful Autumn temperatures and sights, this will be another unforgettable Southern Safari!”

If COVID allows it, Southern Safari is planning a "Jane Austen's England: Landscapes, Seascapes, Cityscapes" tour from June 7-19, 2021. Participants would visit Wi******er, Steventon, Portsmouth, Bath, Stonehenge, Lyme Regis, Oxford, and London. Dr. Amy Gates of the MSSU English department will be teaching a Jane Austen course on Monday and Wednesday afternoons next semester that Southern Safari participants could take if interested.

Here is the itinerary for our European Christmas Markets Cruise:

December 8 – Fly to Prague
December 9-12 – Prague stay (3 nights)
December 12-19 – River Cruise on Viking from Nuremberg to Budapest, including a night in Vienna
December 19 – return home from Budapest
