FLY ON MILITARY FLIGHTS FOR LOW COST OR FREE

Active-duty members on leave, military retirees, reservists, National Guard members, and 100% disabled veterans are eligible to fly Space-A (Space-Available) on military aircraft.

Eligible Travelers and Priority CategoriesSpace
A boarding priority is split into six categories, where lower numbers board first:

Category 1: Emergency leave (unfunded travel) for overseas DoD civilians, Red Cross personnel, and specific family members.

Category 2: Environmental Morale Leave (EML) for service members and DoDEA teachers.

Category 3: Ordinary leave, house hunting (TDY), and deployments lasting over 365 consecutive days.

Category 4: Unaccompanied dependents on EML orders or family members of members deployed over 30 days.

Category 5: Unaccompanied command-sponsored dependents, students, and permissive TDY travelers.Category

6: Retired military members, reserve components, National Guard, surviving spouses, and 100% permanent service-connected disabled veterans.

General Requirements

Active Duty: Must be on ordinary leave or pass for the entire duration of the trip.

Dependents: Can travel with their sponsor or unaccompanied under specific EML or deployment conditions.

Disabled Veterans: Must have a permanent and total (100%) service-connected disability rating and a DD Form 2765, restricted mostly to CONUS, Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories

Sign-up: Passengers must sign up in advance with an AMC Passenger Terminal via email or manual/automated forms.
