Born and raised on Kauai, I try to translate the beauty of my hometown into art.

I'm inspired by its abundant marine life, diverse fauna and majestic landscapes. Add the exotic influences of my travels through Asia, Europe, and the Middle East and I have the catalyst for endless original designs. After a decade fine-tuning my etching skills, I specialize in red and white wine, champagne glasses, martini glasses, iced tea glasses, carafes, pitchers, plate ware and sheet glass t

o be used as art. Recently I have branched out to larger pieces, including shelves, tables, and windows. I've created more than 10,000 hand-crafted works of art. In July of 2012, I was excited to take on the opportunity to expand this line further when I partnered with Jewell McDaniels, also born and raised on Kauai. I am excited to announce new line Wabi Sabi is due out late 2014, it will feature art made from recycled items including glasses and vases made from wine bottles, authentic Japanese fishing globes, and much more. My line, Etched by JAK, is available in select boutiques in Poipu and Kilauea. Custom orders are not only welcome, but encouraged!

Update: Looking for just 1 (maybe 2 depending on what idea you have) for promotional pricing on glass shower, door, window, cabinets, partition, slider doors. If you have some glass in you house you have been wanting to get etched on, but couldn't find the time or money, now is the time! After 10 amazing years. I will be closing up shop. Before the end of the year I will be having a close out show with all sorts of redesign / ideas I've had rolling in my head. I'll also be having new products, because I love being a show off and going out with a bang (all these items will be one of a kind/limited collection).
Thank you to my amazing vendors, clients, and inspiration. You've allowed me to get through college, allowed me to care for others when called upon, moving around the country, and making a living on beautiful kauai. You really have been an amazing and important part of my existence.
Until the show (details to come much later) I will be taking limited orders and an thing you ever wanted to see on here suggestiins/ preorders for show.

It occurred to my the other day, that we have been in business for 9 years! I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate all my wonderful clients, collectors, vendors, and those that helped and supported me along the way. You are all so important in my life. Send in your requests on what more I can provide for you, challenge me, and I'll see what I can make happen for you! Much Mahalo to the entire etched by jak community!

What's new on etched by jak you ask? Jelly fish! Whenever I am on Oahu, and head to the aquarium there's one spot I love, that's the jelly fish tank. Although I prefer not to swim with them, there's something so calming, detailed and beautiful about them and the way they float around. Just being as they are. I love it! I want a tank of them. But for now I'm filling my shelves with my new favorite design. 2 more of my favorite things to come soon.
