Have you ever thought about traveling to South Africa?
Buffalo Thorn is a local business created to help you travel and experience the wonders of Africa! Photography, hunting, fishing, and experiences are all part of what we have to offer. We have personal experiences in all fields along with lots of stories to tell!
Photography:
Stay in Hluhluwe, South Africa and have your camera ready for the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park. A Big 5 nature preserve that is over 350 square miles of wild Africa. It is the oldest proclaimed reserve in all of Africa and offers the chance to photograph each one of the Big 5 along with many other species. In my personal safari I got the chance to photograph rhinos lazing around in mud pools to cool of in the heat of the day, lions so close I photographed our car in the reflection of his eye, and elephants crossing the road in front of us along with much much more. From the tallest giraffe to the smallest kingfisher I photographed it all, and I want you to experience this truly magical reserve it as well!
Hunting:
If photography really isn’t your thing spend your days hunting the bush of South Africa! Our seasoned PH has been hunting for over 30 years and has the animals to prove it. From buffalo to warthog he has so many animals to choose from. We don’t want to be like anyone else so we don’t have premade packages. We let you put your package together to make sure you get everything you want and nothing you don’t. Why settle for anything less?
Fishing:
Want to add a little spice to your trip? Fish in Richards Bay, South Africa known for pulling out thousand pound blue marlin, richly colored dorado, sushi ready yellowfin tuna, and so much more. See the African sunrise while fighting one of the many species of fish the ocean has to offer. Who knows... It could be that thousand pound blue marlin! On my personal fishing charter I caught 7 different species in one day making it one of my most memorable experiences!
Experiences:
Close to where you would be staying, there are so many other things to do. Get up close and personal with elephants at Elephant Connections where you could touch and even feed these magnificent animals. Elephant Connections is a free roaming elephant reserve that would put most any petting zoo to shame! Visit Emdoneni Cheetah Project to see many of the cat species that live in Africa. Check out caracals, servals, African wildcats, and even cheetahs. Get your camera ready to get that perfect feeding shot! There are so many more things to do on your safari to make memories that last a lifetime.
