Every consultation, we spend real time on this before we ever talk resorts. A destination wedding package usually covers your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, plus basic food and drink for a specified number of guests. Everything else, lighting, entertainment, photography, extra guests, is extra. Then there's the taxes and service fees on top of that.

That $10,000 destination wedding package quote already has tax and service fees baked in. What it doesn't include is the extras almost every couple adds, lighting, a DJ, a dance floor, guests beyond the package count. Those carry tax and service fees on top.
