🌴☀️ 5 Affordable U.S Beach Destinations for Families ☀️🌴

Dreaming of a beach vacation that won’t break the bank? 💸 You don’t have to travel far (or spend big) to enjoy sun, sand, and family fun! Here are 5 affordable beach destinations perfect for families:

🏖️ Gulf Shores & Orange Beach, Alabama
Affordable condos, calm waters, and family-friendly attractions like the Wharf, dolphin cruises, and mini golf make this a hidden gem on the Gulf Coast.

🌊 Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Packed with budget resorts, boardwalk fun, water parks, and tons of free/low-cost activities for kids — plus wide sandy beaches.

🏝️ South Padre Island, Texas
One of Texas’s most affordable beach getaways with fun activities, dolphin tours, and affordable beachfront stays.

🐚 Daytona Beach, Florida
Drive-on beaches, affordable hotels, and nearby attractions like the Daytona Boardwalk & Orlando theme parks make it a win for families.

🌴 Pensacola Beach, Florida
Beautiful white sand, clear Gulf waters, and more affordable condos than many Florida hotspots — plus family fun at the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk.

💡 Travel Tip: Booking condos, traveling in shoulder season, bundling flights + hotels, and booking near a military base (it’s usually cheaper!) can save families hundreds.

✈️ One of my favorite travel topics to share with friends is how to use points and miles to travel for free (or nearly free)! 🌎

A lot of people ask how I'm able to travel so often, and one of the biggest reasons is that I've learned how to maximize travel rewards, airline points, hotel points, cruise deals, and special promotions.

Right now, one of the best airline credit card offers I've seen is from Southwest Airlines:

🎉 Spend $1,000 in the first 3 months and earn 80,000 Rapid Rewards points.

That's enough points for multiple flights depending on where and when you travel! ✈️

A few important tips:

✅ Only use credit cards if you're disciplined with spending.
✅ Pay your balance in full each month.
✅ Don't carry a balance and pay high interest.
✅ Never spend money you weren't already planning to spend just to earn points.

The goal is to make your everyday spending work for your travel goals. 🌴

💛 If you're interested in checking out this Southwest offer, use my referral link below. If you're approved, I'll earn bonus points too—and I truly appreciate your support!

💭 One of the questions I get asked the most...

"How do you travel so much?!" ✈️🌎🚢

I think part of the answer is simple...

I LOVE to travel. 💛

I genuinely enjoy exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, cruising to new destinations, visiting national parks, and creating memories along the way. Travel is one of my biggest passions.

Some people assume I must have an unlimited travel budget.

The truth? Not even close. 😆

A lot of my travel comes down to being strategic and knowing how to maximize travel opportunities:

✅ Finding cruise deals and promotions
✅ Booking cruises during sales and special offers
✅ Using cruise vouchers and onboard credits
✅ Redeeming airline points and miles for flights
✅ Using hotel points for free hotel stays
✅ Taking advantage of travel advisor perks and industry rates when available
✅ Being flexible with dates and destinations

In fact, I've had flights that cost me nothing out of pocket because I used points, and I've stayed in hotels for free using hotel rewards points. 💳✨

Travel doesn't always have to mean spending tons and tons of money.

Sometimes it's about knowing where to look, when to book, and how to maximize the rewards and deals available.

And honestly? One of the reasons I work so hard to learn all of these travel strategies is because I truly love seeing the world and helping others do the same. 🙌🌎

That's one reason I love helping my clients. Whether it's finding the right cruise, maximizing points, or uncovering a great deal, I enjoy helping people plan travel.

🏞️ Only have one day at Hot Springs National Park? Here's how I'd spend it! ♨️
Hot Springs National Park is unlike any other national park I've visited. Instead of massive canyons and towering peaks, you'll find historic bathhouses, thermal spring water, scenic walks, mountain views, and a charming downtown area all within minutes of each other.

✨ My perfect one-day itinerary:
🏛️ Walk Bathhouse Row
💧 Fill up at a spring water fountain
🚶 Stroll the Grand Promenade
🛁 Tour the Fordyce Bathhouse Museum
♨️ Relax at Quapaw or Buckstaff Bathhouse
🌄 Visit Hot Springs Mountain Tower
🛍️ Explore downtown Hot Springs
🥤 Bonus: End the day with a root beer float from Superior Bathhouse Brewery

💡 Pro Tips:
♨️ Bathhouses: Make reservations for Quapaw or Buckstaff ahead of time whenever possible. If they're full, get on the waitlist early in the day—especially on weekends and holidays.

🌄 Hot Springs Mountain Tower: Don't wait until the last minute to visit. Ticket sales can stop approximately an hour before closing time depending on how busy it is, so arrive early if you want to catch the views.

If you're looking for a national park that's a little different, Hot Springs is definitely worth adding to your road trip list!

📌 Save this itinerary for your trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend Recap: Hot Springs National Park ♨️

Okay… I get why some people rank Hot Springs National Park as the “worst” national park. 😂
If you’re expecting:
🏔️ giant mountains
🌋 dramatic overlooks
🥾 all-day hiking adventures

…this is NOT that kind of park.

BUT honestly? It might be the MOST unique national park I’ve visited. 👀

As someone who has stood at the edge of the Grand Canyon, seen the Badlands, and road-tripped through massive landscapes… Hot Springs felt completely different from almost every other national park I’ve visited.

You’re literally walking through a historic downtown with bathhouses, hot spring fountains, mountain views, hiking trails, and thermal water flowing underground. It feels more like a spa-town-meets-national-park experience. ♨️🌲

And honestly? It’s kind of for the indoor people. 😂

Like…
✨ “I enjoy nature… but also air conditioning and coffee shops.”
✨ “I want a national park experience without climbing a mountain.”
✨ “Give me scenic views AND a rooftop dinner.”

And honestly? I respect that. 😂👏

Travel doesn’t always have to look extreme to be memorable.
Every destination is unique — and this one surprised me in the best way. (Shhh…I loved soaking in the thermal waters at Hot Springs, AR! 😉)

🚢 Utopia of the Seas Recap ✨

As the SECOND LARGEST ship in Royal Caribbean’s fleet, Utopia truly feels like a floating city at sea. From the second you walk onboard, everything feels bigger, brighter, and more high-energy than almost any cruise we’ve done before.

This ship is BIG, loud, fun, and packed with things to do from morning to midnight.

Perfect for:
✔️ Friend groups
✔️ Families
✔️ Weekend getaways
✔️ People who never want to be bored on a cruise 😂

Utopia of the Seas was amazing! This weekend was my dad’s first cruise! 🚢 Woohoo! It was one for the books!

🚢 Grandeur of the Seas – Would You Cruise on This Classic? ⚓️✨

I recently sailed on Grandeur of the Seas, and it was such a fun reminder that newer and bigger isn’t always the only way to cruise! 🌊

Yes—Grandeur is currently the oldest and one of the smallest ships in Royal Caribbean’s fleet, but that’s exactly what gives it its classic cruise charm. 💙

My thoughts after sailing:

✨ Easy to navigate – No huge crowds or long walks everywhere
🍽️ Great ocean views and relaxing atmosphere
🎭 Classic cruise entertainment and cozy ship feel
🌅 Perfect for travelers who enjoy a more laid-back pace
💰 Often a great value compared to newer mega ships

Is it packed with water slides and flashy attractions like the newest ships? No. But if you enjoy relaxing, ocean views, good service, and simply being at sea, it can be a great choice.

💡 My honest take: I’d absolutely book it again for the right itinerary and price.

Would you cruise on Royal Caribbean’s oldest classic ship? 👇
