Third Friday Art Walk returns this Friday, Oct 16, to 6th Street in Strawberry Hill. Spend the evening exploring local art, live music, food trucks, and creative pop-ups along one of KCK's most vibrant streets. From handmade goods to interactive experiences, this free, family-friendly event showcases the heart of our creative community. ​
The Art Walk runs from 5 to 9 pm, and it's the perfect way to support local artists and small businesses while enjoying a summer night out in Kansas City, Kansas. ​
While you're there, stop by the Visit Kansas City Kansas booth to say hi and pick up some new merch! Third Friday Art Walks take place every third Friday from May through October, mark your calendars and make it a monthly tradition. ​

Spooky season just got real. Exiled - Trail of Terrors is here

Kansas City’s premier outdoor haunted house in Bonner Springs invites thrill-seekers and horror fans to explore the Trail of Terrors, a haunted forest filled with suspense, twisted scares, and deranged inhabitants. Then step into the Haunted Carnival, where creepy performers, eerie entertainment, and bone-chilling surprises await around every corner.​

Located in the woods at Zip KC and the KC Timber Challenge, Exiled is physically demanding and recommended for ages 12 and up.​

One of my dreams came true recently when I visited Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que! It lives up to the hype AND MORE, truly one of the best meals I've ever eaten, and the absolute best barbecue I've enjoyed!

The Z-Man is rightfully lauded, all the flavors just come together so well that every bite is perfect. Each and every side dish was fantastic. We had mac & cheese, street corn, baked beans, and cornbread. And don't forget the banana pudding for dessert! 😋

I even got a behind-the-scenes tour with one of the managers, Lane, shown in the last picture. This guy is so sweet! I'll do a separate post about the tour--I got to see the longtime smokers still going strong, watch ribs smoking, burnt ends cut, onion rings coming out of the fryer, and plated goodies going out to customers.

A big thank you to Lane, Joe's, Ritz and Visit Kansas City Kansas for making my dreams come true! ❤️❤️

Indigenous Peoples’ Day: Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Present.

Today we celebrate the stories, strength, and culture that have shaped Kansas City, Kansas. Swipe through to see two murals that bring this history to life:

Wyandot Echoes (2007) by Duane Dudley, Jose Faus, and Alisha Gambino tells the journey of the Wyandot people, from Ontario to Ohio to Kansas, and a spiritual path connecting past and present. It also celebrates the Conley sisters, who fought to protect the Wyandot Cemetery all the way to the Supreme Court.

Wyandot Nation Mural by Vania Soto at KCK Community College brings the Wyandot story to life, honoring their traditions and resilience.​
These murals are more than art; they’re stories, struggles, and triumphs that shaped our city. ​
