Waikīkī comes alive when you hear it from the water!
took us on a tour through the shoreline of Waikīkī, sharing the history behind its most iconic landmarks:
• Halekoa Hotel and Fort DeRussy, where history and modern Waikīkī meet
• Moana Surfrider, built in 1901 as the first hotel on Waikīkī Beach
• Royal Hawaiian, known for its distinctive pink architecture and royal influence
• Queen Kapiʻolani Park, home to the Honolulu Zoo and Waikīkī Shell, once used as royal
stables and a horse racing track
• The Natatorium War Memorial, built as a saltwater memorial honoring Hawaiians who served
in World War I
• Lēʻahi (Diamond Head), named by whalers who mistook its glimmering slopes for diamonds
