🌅 Day 1: Welcome to Caddo Lake Week!
📍Located on the Texas–Louisiana border, Caddo Lake is a 25,000-acre maze of bayous, sloughs, and wetlands—home to towering bald cypress trees and rich biodiversity.

It’s one of the only natural lakes in Texas and a rare example of an intact wetland ecosystem in the region.

All week we’re celebrating the lake we love—its science, wildlife, challenges, and what we can do to protect it. Stay tuned!

The latest data is even more concerning…

A powerful derecho is expected to form and charge through North Texas with Category 2 hurricane-force winds – up to 100 MPH. This will be a major damaging wind event, with the potential for:
• 🌪️ A few embedded tornadoes
• 🧊 Large hail
• ⚠️ Widespread wind damage

Storms are expected to ignite across southern Oklahoma late Sunday afternoon, rapidly intensifying as they move southeast into North Texas.

🕘 Main threat window: 9 PM to 2 AM

📌 Take action today:
– Bring in patio furniture and secure anything outdoors
– Make sure you have multiple ways to get warnings overnight
