We had a few questions, so here's the clarification! The locks in DePere and Little Kaukauna are open daily. All other locks are open on the weekend. And, to get a locks pass, just purchase online and download on your phone. Easy-peasy and you can cruise the Fox! https://foxlocks.org/product-category/passes/

If you need to get your boat off the water through the lock system, remember the locks from Kaukauna-Menasha close Sept. 1. The two northernmost locks (Little Kaukauna & DePere) will be open WEEKENDS ONLY until October 6. https://foxlocks.org/schedule-and-operations/lock-hours-procedures/

Constructing the system of locks and dams on the lower Fox River started in the late 1840s to move people, crops, and troops through the Great Lakes to the western frontier. From 2000-2015 16 of the 17 locks were fully restored thanks to a community fundraising effort .
