CORRECTION: If you're planning for the 4th of July, WE ARE OPEN! Northern locks (DePere and Little Kaukauna) will be open 11 am-8 pm. All other locks will be open 11 am - 6 pm. Hope to see you through the locks!

We get questions about paddle boards through the locks--and we recommend NOT putting a paddleboard through the locks, but using a portage to get around the locks/dams. If you decide to go through the locks on your paddleboard, you're responsible for your own safety. AND you must pay for a day pass, wear a life jacket, and stay on the paddle board while in the lock.

All 17 locks are on the National Register of Historic Places. To date, we have not been able to identify a similar system with as many locks in operational status. https://foxlocks.org/the-locks/lock-system-overview/
