And that’s a wrap….we just finished our last tour for the season. This year we hosted over 400 guests. Each guest was treated to a sight of 22 to 47 birds on any given day. Guests were amazed by how close our blinds are to the birds, with birds displaying as close as 10 yards from the blind. Bookings will open for next year on Dec. 15.

The viewing this week as been off the charts…as many as 20 females and 23 males at one time. Lots of sparring, chase scenes, and even mating.

It was youth day today at the Lek. Complimentary tours were offered to select students from Central City and Aurora. The birds put on quite a show for the students!

It was a great day! 37 birds, 13 females and lots of activity. There is still time to book a tour for Friday, Monday or Tuesday. The activity level is off the charts!!

It was a top 3 day at the lek! 45 birds, the most we’ve ever seen. 12 females who stayed for almost an hour. Off the charts activity!! There is still room for a few more guests in tomorrow’s tour.

The blinds have been placed on the lek and we are officially ready for our first tour next Friday. 26 birds came to the lek today, booming, dancing, sparring, and as always a few danced on the roof of the blind. There is still time to book a tour for this season at www.prairiewindbirdingtour.com

The boss is ready for a break. He’s been working hard on our newest blind. As Kent builds each blind he finds new ways to make improvements. This blind is longer and wider, allowing for even more photography equipment. Convenient hooks on the back wall to hang backpacks and equipment with a great padded shelf and cubbies in front of each guest. Each padded seat is adjustable in height.
