Our next favorite find is The Hamburg Strand Movie House! The Strand is located in Historic Hamburg and is only 17 minutes away from The Hawk's Nest!

They are your hometown, non-profit movie theater showing first run movies as well as classics and faith movies once a month! Check out their website hamburgstrand.org for coming attractions!

Our next favorite find is Open View Acres! Open View Acres is located in Orwigsburg and is 15 minutes away from The Hawk's Nest!

Open View Acres is a family farm that is nestled just right outside of Orwigsburg. Specializing in strawberries, sweetcorn, and eggs, you can also find plenty of other great local products made by local farms and bakeries. While at the farm, don't forget to grab a dozen of their farm fresh brown eggs, perfect for you morning breakfast. They are all about locals supporting locals, so make sure to take a ride through the back country roads to get to the farm and enjoy the view at Open View Acres. Hours: 10AM to 7PM, 365 days a year.

Our next favorite find is Market Square Coffee House - Orwigsburg! Market Square Coffee House is located 15 minutes from The Hawk's Nest in Orwigsburg!

Market Square Coffee House is a family-owned and operated coffee house cafe established in 2014. With the desire to serve the local community, they focus on home-cooked, fresh meals and a warm atmosphere to welcome everyone. We offer a full barista bar, freshly made baked goods, and made-to-order breakfast and lunch daily. Inside seating, as well as front porch seating, and outdoor picnic table seating are available. They also feature a convenient walk-up window for outside service.
They offer customized catering services and special orders for any event. From corporate catering to weddings and showers, they are proud to create a menu just for you!

Our next favorite find is Hazel’s Cafe! Hazel's is located in historic Hamburg and is 18 minutes away from The Hawk's Nest!

Hazel's is a full-service coffee shop currently featuring iced coffee, hot coffee, teas, flavored energy drinks, boba tea, house made chai, matcha and other assorted beverages. In addition to coffee and beverages, Hazel's offers house made buttermilk biscuits, sausage gravy, breakfast sandwiches, avocado toasts and daily house baked goods provided by our favorite local baker, BAKE ME HAPPY!

Our second favorite find is Stein's Farm Market! Stein's Farm Market is located in Orwigsburg, and 14 minutes from the Hawk's Nest!

Stein's is a Farmer's Market located directly on the Farm, open year round. November/December they have their own Christmas trees for sale! During the winter months of January through May, they have cider, apples, pears, potatoes, late veggies, eggs, their Stein's Farm Jar Products, straw and hay. May/June starts the new growing season. They also offer spring flowers, summer hanging baskets, and fall mums. They are a Century Farm with their farm being in their family for over 100 years!

Our first favorite find is Everlong Records LLC! Everlong Records is located in Hamburg and is 18 minutes away from The Hawk's Nest.

They have one of a kind new/used vinyl, a physical media shop, and a coffee bar! They have two events coming up with their local band night on January 18th and art exhibit on February 15th.

"Our family absolutely LOVED our stay at Tara's place. The home was clean, warm and had absolutely everything you could want or need. Each room had its own Roku TV, with big screen TVs in both in the main living room and the living room downstairs. Our kids especially loved the game room with board games, a putting green and foosball table.
The location is quiet and secluded. If you're a nature lover, you will love her place. We especially enjoyed watching the family of deer making their way through the backyard at dusk. The home is a two-minute drive from Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, one of the top places on the East Coast to see migrating raptors in the spring and fall. But it's also close to restaurants and shops. We especially enjoyed our dinner out in downtown Hamburg, less than a 20 minute drive from the house.
Tara is a fantastic host. We can't wait to stay at her place again."
