We have continued our journey to Kos, Greece. It's an island closer to the coast of Turkiye in the eastern Mediterranean. Hippocrates was born on the island and there is an Asklepion where he started a very well known healing center. He was ahead of his time as he believed and taught that instead of treating the symptoms of a person he looked at the whole body and mind when treating illnesses. There are woods surrounding the ruins and it is said that people went into the woods to convene with the trees to get well. The cypress trees around the area help the spirit to reach heaven.
Our journey took us to Antalya and Izmir, Turkiye where we were going to connect with a friend of ours who was our guide last year. Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet up with her. However, we were able to connect with our taxi driver in Istanbul and have dinner with him and his wife. There are cats and dogs everywhere throughout the city and they are well taken care of. This is our 3rd time in Istanbul and we love the city!
Tomorrow it is on to Mykonos and the island of Delos where it is said the good Apollo was born. That's our last stop then back to Athens!
