In this video, we want to show how you can create a bonsai tree from an ordinary looking plant at a garden center. Robert travels to a garden center in our area to shop for trees. He picks up several ordinary nursery stocks and explains how he would upgrade one into a bonsai tree. This is just ONE of many ways you can create a bonsai from nursery stock. Bonsai Fest was a huge success and we have a few more spots open for our next Bonsai For Beginners class. The next class will be on May 31st, from 11m - 1pm at our nursery in Kent. Class is $120 + tax per person. Please call us at (253) 335-1297 to register or come into our nursery to register in person!

Class description:
The class is a two hour class taught by bonsai expert Robert Cho and his son Nolan Cho. The first hour we cover a brief history of bonsai and its origins, the fundamentals, and the principal care you need to ensure your bonsai is THRIVING and not just SURVIVING.

The second hour you will be taking a 5-6 year old outdoor Juniper tree and planting it in a ceramic bonsai container. At the end of the class, you'll take the tree home with you.

Today is World Bonsai Day and we have a pop up booth at the Pacific Bonsai Museum for their Bonsai Fest event! May 10th & 11th from 10am-4pm. The event is free to enter AND there will be free docent led tour guides who will tell you all about the important and historical bonsai/penjing pieces that are on display. We're back at it again with our maple pruning videos. We have a large backlog of trees right now so for those who have been waiting for us to come prune, thank you for your patience!
