What a Reel Day at the Waikine Wahine!

The village buzzed with excitement this past weekend as the 22nd annual Milolii Waikine Wahine Tournament brought together some of the fiercest female anglers from the area!

These ladies battled it out on the water, showcasing their skills and knowledge of Hawaiian fishing grounds. The camaraderie and competitive spirit were truly inspiring. Hand reels only, wahines only on the rods. It's a workout for sure.

Our parters Team Courtney and Justin won big, with biggest fish and biggest ahi to take home some wonderful prizes and a share of the pot. Big mahalos to my wahine friend Orchid for helping me and Team SZ reel in the Ono side pot. We ended up with four nice ones in the box including a double up.

A huge congratulations to this year's winner of the Captains Raffle, sponsored by Alaska Strike Zone Sportfishing ! Chelsea Fa'avesi wins an Alaskan fishing charter for four! We can't wait to take you out to reel in some salmon up north!
