Captain “T” Solo owner and operator of this vessel

Captain “T” Hanson is certfied by the United States Coast Guard as a Merchant Mariner. Captain “T” is a native of Miami, FL and now resides in Key Largo.She is also an officer with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, completing vessel safety inspections (FSO-VE), taught Boating Safety and Navigation courses (FSO-PE), Currently working towards Crew certification. Captain “T” is a certified Lifeguard wi

th CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, First Aid, and Administrating Emergency Oxygen. She has spent more than 48 years on the water operating vessels at sea and a competitive swimmer since the age of four. Captain “T” has spent the last 21 years exploring the FL Keys waterways! The Big Blue is a 25T Contender with a 350 hp Yamaha engine (27ft length including the transom)!

TRAFFIC ADVISORY for Key West air show

The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind motorists the U.S. Naval Air Station Key West 2025 Southernmost Air Spectacular is this weekend, with gates opening at 10 a.m., March 29 and March 30, at Boca Chica Field on Boca Chica Key.

The free and public show will include the U.S. Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, as well as other aerial demonstrations by military and civilian performers, including static military and vintage aircraft.

Motorists should expect delays in the four-lane area of U.S. 1 on Boca Chica Key during the show and plan accordingly.

NOTE: There will be no stopping or parking allowed on the shoulder, curb, or directly on U.S. 1 during this event! Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Unit Deputies and Florida Highway Patrol Troopers will be continuously patrolling to ensure this behavior does not occur, particularly the areas between Stock Island and Big Coppitt Key.
