I'm guessing that you might also like to take home with you unique pieces of Key West parents just another T-shirt... I definitely like those too but, I have spent time finding other types of cool reminders:

• Local art & prints... Maybe this includes a tattoo?
• Signed books from local independent shops like Books & Books
• Handcrafted candles, key lime treats, and artisanal tropical goods

If you are able to snag one of these stools just before sunset, consider yourself very lucky! They are perfect for sunset viewing while enjoying a cold beverage and they certainly won't remain empty for long.

After the sun goes down, stick around for live music on the nearby stage.

Just learned about this “new” mural by CeCe Morrison, and somehow I have NOT seen it in person yet! 🤦‍♀️
It’s absolutely gorgeous, and I think it perfectly captures so many of the things I love about Key West. The colors, roosters, turtles and butterflies, being on the water… it just feels like Key West. 🌴🎨🌺

I’ve been visiting since 2002, so I’m always happy when I discover something that somehow slipped under my radar. Now I know where I’m headed on my next trip! ❤️

Half Shell Raw Bar is a "do not miss" for seafood lovers that's always hopping. While the all-day menu has many popular dishes, they are also well-known for their happy hour food deals and beverage specials. In addition to the restaurant, Half Shell has an on-site seafood market .

If it’s your first trip to Key West, do yourself a favor and stay in Old Town.

Yes, there are hotels in Stock Island and New Town with shuttles—but it’s just not the same.

When you stay in Old Town, it's a completely different experience..l You can easily pop back to your place for a quick break, drop off shopping bags, or freshen up before heading out again.

Instead of watching the clock for a shuttle, you’ll find yourself wandering charming streets that make Key West feel like Key West!

And with so many cozy inns and unique rentals, it’s easy to find the perfect home base for your Key West vacation. 🌴🐓

🌴 While Duval Street gets all the fame, my favorite stretch in Key West is definitely Petronia Street in Bahama Village!

This charming little area is packed with great restaurants, unique shops, and that laid-back island vibe that makes Key West so special. Here are just a few spots to check out:

🍷 Santiago’s Bodega – Always at the top of my recommendation list! This cozy tapas spot has a fantastic happy hour, daily specials, and the best sangria (I’m partial to the sparkling one!).

🥙 Olives Mediterranean Grill – This place is so good! So nice to see more Mediterranean options in town!

🥞 La Crêperie – Some people discover it when Blue Heaven is full, and end up loving it just as much. Open for breakfast and lunch, with a mix of sweet & savory crêpes and fresh salads.

🛍 Key West Sunshine Club – A fun, beachy boutique with high-quality clothing and accessories for men, women, and kids.

🚲 Red Bike Brand – You might’ve seen their products around town, but now they have their own shop right on the corner of Petronia and Whitehead—full of cool, island-inspired gear.

Just off Duval on Petronia Street, Red Shoe Island Bistro is one of Key West’s best-kept secrets. With just two dinner seatings a night, every meal feels intimate and special — like dining at a friend’s home who just happens to be an incredible chef. 👨‍🍳✨

Favorites? The yellowtail snapper, seared scallops, and that lavender cheesecake everyone talks about. Trust me… it’s worth the reservation. 🍋🍰

If you haven’t been to Harpoon Harry’s, I think you’re missing out on a true Key West staple. This cash-only, old-school diner across from the Seaport serves up hearty comfort food all day long — from massive breakfasts to late-night plates that hit spot on.

The vibe is a bit quirky yet cozy, but certainly nothing fancy or touristy, which is exactly the point. The staff, many of whom have been there for years, treat you like a regular from the moment you walk in.

It’s busy for a reason: great food, great people, and the kind of local charm that makes you feel like you’ve found the “real” Key West.
