Received the new Robert Filger Rapture fly rods. 9wt shown here. I’m most interested in casting with the carbon grip. I’m sweaty so will be nice to not have to worry about wer hands@and slippy cork.

The rod tube has a built in sock, sections for each piece, pretty cool.

Couple other little things I like right away. The Alps reel seat, light and nuts stay tight. The black matte finish looks sharp.

I ordered the 9 & 10 weight rods as I’ll use those the most in the coming months. I’ll get 11wt as we get closer to tarpon season.

Look forward to taking them for a spin on the flats near Key West this week if the weather will cooperate.

On of the best days of bonefishing for me in a while. Had a great time with Mark Robbins and his son. They each caught a couple around 7lbs and several slightly smaller ones. 2 double ups also. Thanks guys

Two days ago it was howling but sunny, could see in the water for miles. 👍
Today, light wind , cloudlines and lots of glare 👎. Had a couple windows I could more down the flat.
We managed to hook 2 bonefish and 3 shots at permit with one good follow that got spooked by a nurse shark🤬
Then the rain started and forced to run back in. Good news, plenty of permit and tons of bones!!
