MARINE SAFETY INFORMATION BULLETIN

During the 2021 Paddle Classic around Key West, the Captain of the Port (COTP) Key West will establish a temporary moving safety zone that will be enforced from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on October 2, 2021. During the period of the safety zone and to ensure the safety of the paddlers, no person or vessel may enter, transit through, anchor, or remain within the safety zone without permission from the COTP. See Marine Safety Information Bulletin for additional details. Best of luck to all the paddlers! We hope everyone has a safe and fun-filled event.

Key West was once the richest city in America, mostly because of the shipwreck salvaging industry. Many a ship came to grief off the tiny island, but none so famous as the Spanish galleon Nuestra Señora de Atocha.
