🇵🇭 Welcome to Coron, Philippines!

As we pulled into port, we were greeted by colorful waterfront homes nestled against the lush green hillsides. Waiting nearby were rows of tricycles (tuk tuk’s) and smiling drivers ready to take visitors into town.

We hopped aboard and spent the afternoon exploring Coron, taking in the views, meeting locals, and discovering why this corner of the Philippines is on so many travelers’ bucket lists.

The day ended with dinner overlooking the bay as the sun began to set behind the mountains—a pretty perfect first impression of Coron.

One of the things we love most about living aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey is that every port has its own personality, and Coron welcomed us with open arms.

We’ll definitely be back. (TWICE) 😉

Have you visited Coron?

💙 This is Sheila.

If you’ve spent any time in the dining room, you probably know Sheila. She always greets us by name, remembers the little things, and somehow manages to make everyone feel special.

Every morning, she has my ice ready for my iced coffee before I even have to ask. It’s such a small gesture, but it’s those thoughtful touches that mean so much when you’re living onboard.

And as if that wasn’t enough, she’s also multi-talented—singing, dancing, and bringing her energy and smile wherever she goes.

The Villa Vie Odyssey crew works incredibly hard, but people like Sheila remind us that they’re more than crew members—they’re family.

Thank you, Sheila, for your kindness, your talent, and for making our days a little brighter. 💙

A few years ago, we were living on Maui, running businesses, paying bills, and living what most people would consider a normal life.

Today, we live full-time aboard a residential cruise ship and travel the world one port at a time.

People often ask us how we got here.

This is our full story—from where we were, to the decisions we made, to how we ended up buying a cabin on a ship and creating a completely different way of life.

It’s been a crazy journey, and we’re just getting started. ❤️🌎🚢

Tuesday lunch with a view. 🍔🍺🌴

One of the things we love most about living on the Odyssey is that an ordinary Tuesday can look like this. Enjoying lunch on deck as we slowly cruise into Coron, Philippines, surrounded by incredible scenery and good company.

No rushing. No commute. Just a burger, a cold drink, and front-row seats to another beautiful destination.

Sometimes it’s the simple moments that remind us why we chose this life.

One of the things we love most about this lifestyle is moments like this. No music. No narration. Just the sound of the ocean as we make our way back to Coron. 🌊

Sometimes the best part of the day is simply slowing down and enjoying the view.

Most people save dinners like this for vacations or special occasions.
For us… this is simply life onboard. 🍷⚓️

That’s the difference between traditional cruising and residential cruising.
At some point, the ship stops feeling like a getaway… and starts feeling like home. 🌎🛳️

And honestly, we still catch ourselves looking around thinking,
“How is this actually our life?” ❤️

Life aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey is many things… but boring is definitely not one of them! 😂🚢✨

Tonight, the Observatory was taken over by Princess Leia as residents gathered for a fun-filled Princess Leia Party hosted by the wonderful Eddie and Angel. From towel-bun hairstyles and creative costumes to lightsabers, themed cocktails, and plenty of laughs, everyone embraced their inner Star Wars character for the evening.

One minute you’re watching the sunset over the ocean, the next you’re surrounded by a room full of Princess Leias and Jedi Knights. That’s just another night in our floating community! And when the Captain stopped by to join in on the fun, it made the evening even more memorable. Seeing residents, crew, and even the Captain sharing laughs together is one of the things that makes life aboard the Odyssey so special.

A huge thank you to Eddie and Angel for putting together such a fun event and giving us another reminder that life onboard is all about friendships, laughter, and making memories together.

May the Force be with the Odyssey! ⭐️

One of our favorite places to be during sail away is the Observatory. 🚢🌴

As we departed Coron today, we had a front-row seat to some absolutely stunning views. Watching the limestone cliffs slowly disappear into the distance through the panoramic windows is a reminder of just how lucky we are to call this ship home.

Goodbye for now, Coron. We’ll be back soon. ❤️

For the first time, we’re sharing the FULL story.

How two ordinary people ended up buying a cabin on a ship and leaving land life behind. ⚓️🌎

This wasn’t a vacation decision.

It was years of conversations about time, work, burnout, adventure, and realizing life was moving faster than we were living it.

We share:
⚓️ Why we chose this lifestyle
⚓️ How we discovered residential cruising
⚓️ What it actually costs
⚓️ The delays, challenges, and uncertainty
⚓️ What life is really like onboard
⚓️ Whether it was worth it

Looking back, it still feels a little crazy that this became our life.

Thank you to everyone who has followed along on this journey. We never imagined more than 50,000 people would be sharing this adventure with us. ❤️

Another great night aboard the Odyssey with an amazing group of friends 🍷⚓️

A huge thank you to Kris and Darin for inviting everyone to another fun wine tasting and for bringing along “The Crash” wines for us to try. We got to taste the 2015, 2019, and 2020 vintages while learning the story behind the wine… which made it even more interesting. 🍇

And of course, one of the best moments of the night was Eddie raising a glass and giving a toast to the Budaks for “bringing back another suitcase full of wine.” 😂🥂

Big thank you as well to John and Melody for opening up the beautiful Mermaid Suite and providing all the delicious snacks for everyone.

These are the moments that make life aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey so special — good wine, great conversations, and even better people. ❤️
