We would like to welcome the newest addition to Flyers Nest, new flooring! All bedroom and bath areas have been updated with new floors and we're excited about how it turned out!

Had a great dinner at Chilli Peppers Coastal Grill. They are a smaller restaurant with the dining room tucked behind a bar and most meals between $15 and $20. The fish and chips were great, the fish was very lightly breaded and the fries were great, nice and crispy! We also got chicken cordon blue off the dinner special menu which had a generous amount of spinach alfredo sauce drizzled over it, yum!

Goombays Coconut Shrimp salad and Jazzy Chicken. Both were great but I loved the frozen peanut butter pie, yum!

Currituck Beach Lighthouse is about 25 miles North of Kill Devil Hills, at the North end of Corolla. It’s unique among the North Carolina lighthouses with its red brick construction. The lighthouse opens at the end of March and closes in November. You can buy tickets to climb the lighthouse, but you can explore the grounds for free.

The public access at 5th Street on Virginia Dare Trail has some parking available and is right by Target if you need to grab more beach supplies!

The Waterfront Shops in Duck is a fun place on the Sound with lots of local shops!

We are at Shipwrecks tonight. Plenty of seafood on the menu, we had Salmon and ribs. Decent pub food.

We keep returning to 3 Tequilas (3tequilasobx.com) for some good Mexican food! They are 2.5 miles south right on the Croation Highway. They have good prices too so no worries bringing the family! On this trip we got the Chimichangas and Pollo Patrón. Both were delicious!

Barefoot Bernie's is just 2 miles north of Flyer's Nest. Their El Chupacabra Tacos are delicious!
