🎨 MURALS OF KILLEEN
More than a colorful photo spot, this Downtown Killeen mural tells the story of our city.
Look closely at “KILLEEN,” and you’ll find the flags of the United States, Guam, the Philippines, South Korea, Jamaica, Germany and Puerto Rico, a reflection of the cultures represented throughout our community.
The details tell even more of our story. The train honors the railroad that gave birth to Killeen in 1882, while the military vehicles, helicopters and service-member silhouettes recognize our deep military connection. Texas wildflowers complete the scene.
The flags also hold special meaning: they’re a callback to the Celebrate Killeen Multicultural Festival, which began in 2000 as the Festival of Flags.
Local artist and veteran Mark Arrington of Datboigood Artwork brought the mural to life with help from his family.
