When visiting Hawaii a Luau is a must! There are many to choose from… We decided to attend the one at Aulani! This meant booking this many months in advance! The food was fabulous, the entertainment was full of Hawaiian culture… we learned how to make Poi, we took a quick ukulele lesson and even got henna tattoos (all before the show!)

Because we are Disney Vacation Club members, we were able to attend a few Members Only events that we did not know about until we arrived, including Mimosas and Macaroons, where we got to taste both and learn to make macaroons in this 1 hour demonstration by the Aulani pastry chef!

Where can you attend early morning yoga on the beach? I did this at Aulani! It was a fun active way to start the day!

Tours… The tours at Aulani are full of information and local Hawaiian history. We attended the Nature and Wildlife walking tour… and learned another the plants, the landscaping and the aquaculture around the resort.
We also attended the Arts and Culture walking tour… and learned about the many pieces of Hawaiian art and the cultural influences on the building and de orating of the resort.

Hawaii is beautiful and Aulani in Oahu has a lot to offer visitors… it doesn’t matter what type of trip you are planning… from honeymoons to a couples get-away to a friends trip and a family vacation it will be a vacation filled with fun, sun and many memories to being home.

One of the most visited sights in Oahu… Pearl Harbor, the Arizona Memorial and the Battleship Missouri, the Bowfin and the Hanger where the aircraft are on display.

This is how we spent our last 2 days sightseeing… There is a lot to see and experience including videos and movies to watch in addition to tours by the staff providing details and stories of the events leading up to and after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

A very solemn but enlightening review of our US history.

Truly a historical sight to see and visit on a trip to Oahu. If this is something you have always wanted to see/visit let’s chat and make it happen!

We continued to explore Oahu… a trip to the North Shore and a stop at the resort we spent part of our honeymoon at many years earlier… the resort has changed names… but the views were wonderful!

Planning for this trip we decided that we wanted to hike Diamond Head. A landmark overlooking Honolulu… We took our time hiking the 0.8 mile trail, it was a warm June morning and the terrain a bit challenging… The views were truly beautiful! We all made it to the top and then we had to hike back… we got our activity in bright and early on that day! I would suggest this as a morning activity, pack your water and sunscreen… take your time and enjoy the views along the way!

We visited the Punchbowl… also known as the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. The memorial honors nearly 29,000 service who went missing or were lost at sea during WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. It is a working cemetery serving a the final resting place for approximately 53,000 service members and their dependents. It is situated inside 100,000 year old extinct volcanic crater. It was a beautiful sight full of stunning views and filled with American Military History.

If Hawaii is on your must see list, let’s chat about planning the trip! There is so much to do… you can plan for lots of activities and see many sights…but trust me there are many chances and locations to relax and enjoy the island and the resorts!

Some sights you can see around Oahu include some yummy treats and some historical/cultural exhibits!

We visited the Dole Plantation… Where else can you try your abilities at a Hawaiian Maze? This was challenging and had us wondering if we were going to have to call in for assistance to find our way out! After this we toured the plantation by train and of course had fresh pineapple and a Dole-whip!

Who enjoys a delicious glass of wine? We visited Oneo Winery… a family owned wine making business with over 150 wines… our tasting included 7 different wines and we watched them bottle a freshly made wine… they bottle by hand! We each left with a bottle of wine to include the freshly bottled one!

A must to visit in Oahu… The Iolani Palace and the King Kamehameha statue! For those Hawaii 5-0 watchers, these Hawaiian historical sights should look familiar!

A rum tour… This took us to Kohana Rum Distillery… We learned about the making of rum and attended a rum tasting of several types of rum!

Who doesn’t love coffee? One of our days started at Green World Coffee Company. A great way to start the day… multiple tastings before deciding on our full morning cup of Hawaiian coffee!

These are just a few of the sights available in Oahu to visit… Stay tuned for more…
If you would like to experience these sights for yourself let’s chat about a trip to Hawaii!

A year ago we visited the beautiful island of Oahu for 14 days! We stayed at Aulani, did you know it is a Disney property? There are many beautiful resorts in Hawaii to choose from and you can even cruise to multiple islands year round! (This is the plan for the next trip, now that I know this!) We spent time ā€˜playing tourist’ as we called it and just relaxing at the resort… follow along to see more in the next few days…

Is Hawaii on your bucket list?
Have you visited already and want to go back?
Would you visit one island or multiple?
Would you visit via land or sea (cruise)?

I have completed my Hawaii Specialist Training (learned somethings that would have been nice to know on our past trips!) and would love to help you plan your vacation to this beautiful paradise!

The day before our Seminar at Sea on the Celebrity Silhouette… We spent the day in NYC!
Growing up in NJ, I have visited NYC many times… This trip included some new adventures!

Of course we stopped in the Disney Store and then the M&M Store.

Ellen’s Stardust Diner was a new treat, the French toast was šŸ˜‹ and the singing servers were great entertainment! I would definitely recommend this as a must do for a yummy and filling meal.

Because we had time before the show we went to RiseNY… for those who have gone on Soarin at Disney… This was an educational look at NYC starting with the original City Hall Subway Station, with interactive sections showing artifacts, costumes and radio/TV history ending with the NYC fly over 4D ride! This was a fun and interactive historical look at NYC through the years! If going to NYC, you should check it out!

To top off the trip to NYC and the one thing we planned in advance… Seeing a Broadway Show! The Lion King was an Awesome Show! If you haven’t seen it… and going to NYC… get tickets!

There is always something new to see and do in NYC! If you are headed there, I’m happy to help you plan your trip, whether it’s a day trip, a weekend or even longer!
