The story of the Cozy Cacti began with a desire to find a little escape from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. In 2022, we went on a search for land in the Texas Hill Country; our requirements were views, water, and space to explore. We searched long and hard, as the combo of those requirements were hard to find, but we found our little piece of heaven in Kingsland, Texas off the Llano River, just north of Lake LBJ.
After we purchased the land, we knew we had to put a dwelling on it to allow for us and others to enjoy. We explored all kinds of options, but after endless searching we found her…The Cozy Cacti.
Our container home was initially constructed in 2022 by a young couple in the Texas Panhandle. They designed and constructed her with care and precision all the way to the tiniest of details. It is no easy task to build a tiny home that has everything you need but does not feel crowded or congested. Somehow they did it, and we fall more in love with her and her design each time we are out there.
It was no easy task shipping her from the Texas panhandle to the hill country, but she made it to her resting place in February of 2023. After she arrived, we began building a 40 foot covered deck, hanging swings, clearing land, pouring gravel, picking out bedding, towels, lotions, soaps, decor, furniture, pictures, and ALL the things that make our wonderful container as cozy as possible within our cactus glamping theme.
After months of getting her just perfect, we opened her up for all to enjoy in July/August 2023.
Since that time, we continue to enjoy her and the land as much as possible, but we have been so surprised how much we LOVE sharing her with others. It brings us so much joy to hear stories of how our guests have reconnected with loved ones, reconnected to nature, and/or reconnected with themselves during their time at the Cozy Cacti. THIS is now what keeps us going and striving to create not only a space, but an experience, that all can enjoy. ❤️🌅
