⚠️ Important update for anyone visiting Chichén Itzá

The Government of Yucatán and the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History) announced that both the Visitor Service Center (CATVI) and the former tourist drop-off area at Chichén Itzá will continue to remain temporarily closed to the public today, following yesterday’s closure as well.

Per the official announcement, this temporary measure is being taken to address operational and interinstitutional coordination matters, with the goal of ensuring the best possible experience for visitors at the archaeological site.

Authorities also stated that they are working jointly to resume normal operations as soon as possible.

They also thanked tourists, tour agencies, and members of the local community for their patience and understanding.

If you have a tour scheduled for today, it’s recommended to contact your tour operator directly for the latest updates before departing!
