Just returned from Walt Disney World, where I stayed at the absolutely beautiful Wilderness Lodge. The pictures don’t do the resort justice! It’s an incredibly peaceful oasis in the middle of the theme park madness, and it’s quickly become one of my absolute favorite Disney World resorts!

Explorations around Mount Airy, NC (Andy Griffith’s hometown and the inspiration for Mayberry). We checked out the Andy Griffith sights, visited the Siamese Twins Museum and the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History, ate at the Snappy Lunch, and did some hiking on Pilot Mountain.

So, I’m slowly working on my goal to stay at every Disney World resort, and my most recent stay was at Port Orleans - Riverside. This moderate level resort is sprawling, but absolutely beautiful. It’s themed to the Louisiana countryside, and I stayed in the Alligator Bayou section. My room was super charming, and pretty spacious. During my stay I had dinner at Boatwright’s Dining Hall, and it was surprisingly delicious! (I mean, you can’t go wrong with pimento cheese fritters with pepper jelly…)
