Animal Kingdom day for us! A mere 2.2 miles from the house is the parking lot for Animal Kingdom, so we were there in no time at all!
We woke up, had breakfast, got dressed and went out the door, and were walking through the gates to my daughter’s favorite park by 9 am. The first thing we did was a family photo session in front of the Tree of Life while it was sunny and not too long of a line. Next up, iced and frozen coffees from Starbucks because it was SO hot, and then to the train ride to conservation station where Bluey lives now. Our kids did not want to dance with her, but they did love seeing all of the reptiles and insects, and earning a few badges for their Wilderness Explorer books. We hopped off the train and practically walked right on to the Kilimanjaro Safari, then the Gorilla Falls exploration trail, followed by the Festival of the Lion King (a must-see show), the Winged Encounters show, and one more iced coffee before racing home before the thunderstorm. We were caught in some rain, which is typical of Florida weather, but our son was NOT okay with the thunder, so we just left when that started around 4.
Once home, we still had plenty of time to relax in the living room and the kids played endless games of PacMan and air hockey, ending our day with a dinner made at home (ham and mashed potatoes, just what I needed after French fries, coffee, and cookies from the parks). After the kids were asleep, we went into the hot tub to relax and unwind, perfectly ending our own evening.
We’ll be staying at the house and enjoying the clubhouse and community pool this weekend, stay tuned for those fun days!
