Doesn’t look like much but the amount of hours of sanding and prepping and gel coating and sanding some more… it’s been 30 years since this boat had a paint job, roughly 1992! Kind of wild to think about really but she is looking sharp! Now she needs a good wash job!

This is an affliction that a lot of people in the northeast succumb to over the winter-
Symptoms may consist of Foggy brain, muscle weakness in your reeling arm, lack of vitamin D, and no sunglass tan lines !
Captain James’ recommendation for a remedy is to book a trip with S and J Charters! Whether it be something as simple as an eight hour offshore for ground fishing or if you’re feeling like the ultimate remedy is battling a giant bluefin tuna !

Hello our wonderful followers!
Happy Spring (maybe)?!

Well, we got our first nice day so what do we do? Uncover the Holland and start the process of getting her ready for the water! Today we pressure wash, tomorrow is sanding and painting. Then our diesel tech will be down to make sure the engine is ready to rock. Then it’s our long time canvas queen doing her magic and creating a new Bimini and cushions. Then of course cleaning and final touches! Still a long process but we can’t wait for the season to start!

It’s official today, the ol’ girl is on the hard! Lots of seasonal maintenance ahead. She needs a good pressure wash, wax and paint! Then good as new!

Our hearts go out to all that were and are affected by Hurricane Helene. We are blessed to live where we do (Maine) and never want to take that for granted!
We are also blessed with 105” 527lbs of bluefin tuna.

And of course if you raise boat kids, the senior pics have to be on or around the boat😂
Might have to offer senior pics on the boat next year, could become a thing! Imagine- senior pics at the isles of shoals. I might be onto something!

We have got to clean our windows😂. But got on a fairly large bluefin, then he decided to wrap himself around lobster gear. We choose not to cut gear but will haul if we have to. Which doing it by hand is impossible. And trying to reel in a fish while hand hauling… never gunna happen. Unfortunately the fish got away.. pics leading up to fish on and then hauling trap. (F/V Miles Away came to the rescue by lending us Dana to help only to lose fish moments after) Thanks to Shawn and Dana for the assist!
Love when Capt FaceTimes so I don’t feel left out 🥰
(Lobster gear went back in one piece)
