Well that’s a wrap. Other than Christmas and New Years (both still available!), we will now be booking 2027 as those weeks become available in 2026 *after* the staying guests have had first dibs opportunity to rebook. We appreciate the stays and the positive reviews while we constantly work to ensure Saltwater Sunrise delivers that expected OBX oceanfront experience. 🌅

We love our four-legged friends and wanted to remind our guests and visitors in the OBX of the very high ground temperatures possible on pavement, concrete, decking (painted wood and composite), shallow water, and especially sand, even when the air temperature seems bearable.

If it’s too hot for your bare feet 👣, it’s too hot for their bare paws 🐾🐾.

They don’t have the capabilities we hoomans do to compensate for heat, so test where they will be walking with your own sensitive skin using bare feet or back of hand before taking the fur babes out.

It’s wise to go for an early morning walk or a late evening stroll to avoid any chance of burnt paws or overheating.

Let’s just say we’ve had a couple of guest fur babies 🐾 attempt the great escape over the years (one successfully for a few days 😳), and a few close calls ourselves.

Being right on Beach Rd. we didn’t like that margin for error.

So we created a second barrier to decrease the chances of babies booking an unplanned getaway.

We take great pride ensuring the safety of our guests’ kids and pets alike.

Hopefully this will ease the parental minds (and ours) so they can concentrate on relaxing and enjoying the stay they deserve!⛱️☀️🌊👙🩳
