A nor'easter is offshore of the Outer Banks this week. NC12 is still closed from Marc Basnight Bridge to Rodanthe. High winds and waves are eroding parts of the protective sand dune bringing overwash across the highway at the Pea Island Visitor Center. Meanwhile the Northern Outer Banks beaches are pretty much looking like this.
