A little international travel industry press from my recent visit to Sardinia!

In September, I had the opportunity to join a group of 25 U.S. travel advisors for The Many Faces of Sardinia, an immersive journey organized in collaboration with the Sardinia Region and its tourism partners.

While Sardinia is famous for its beautiful Mediterranean coastline, we were invited to discover so much more. Its traditions, history, cuisine, local communities, and experiences that bring a destination to life.

For me, these opportunities are about more than discovering a destination. They’re about building relationships, gaining firsthand knowledge, and returning home with experiences and insights I can share with my clients.

A DAY BEHIND THE SCENES IN DENVER!

Today, a group of Opulence luxury travel advisors had the wonderful opportunity to visit the headquarters of the Globus family of brands, home to Globus, Cosmos, and Avalon Waterways!

One of the highlights of my day was having lunch with Scott Nisbet, President and CEO of the Globus family of brands. What a privilege to spend time with him, meet his incredible team, and hear firsthand about the exciting developments and what’s coming next for these brands!

These are the opportunities I love most about being part of Opulence. Building relationships with the people behind the brands, gaining insider knowledge, asking questions, and learning what’s on the horizon.

And ultimately, bringing that knowledge and those connections back to my clients.

Because being a travel advisor isn’t just about knowing where to send you. It’s about knowing the people, the products, and the experiences that make your travels extraordinary.

A wonderful day of learning, connecting, and growing in the world of luxury travel!

WHAT THE PHOTOS DON’T TELL YOU…

A beautiful pool. Palm trees. Caribbean blue water. A room that looks great in photos.

But a resort is so much more than what you see on Instagram.

That’s why I go.

I don’t just see the room. I sleep in it.
I don’t just photograph the restaurant. I eat there.
I don’t just walk past the spa. I experience it.
I sit through the trainings, ask the questions, explore the property, and pay attention to the little things most travelers would never think to look for.

How comfortable is the bed? How well does the air conditioning work? Is the room quiet at night? Are there enough outlets and are they actually where you need them? How is the food? The service? The beach? Is the resort easy to navigate? What does the spa experience actually feel like?

Because those little things can become pretty big things when you’re spending a week somewhere.

My job isn’t to love every resort I visit. And it certainly isn’t to recommend every resort I visit.

My job is to understand who it IS right for and who it ISN’T right for.

There were things I genuinely enjoyed here, including the food and my time at the spa, and there were other parts of the experience that gave me pause.

And that knowledge is valuable.

Because when you come to me for a vacation, I’m not choosing a resort based on the prettiest pictures or the best price.

I’m helping you decide if it actually fits your travel style.

That’s the difference between simply booking a resort and having a travel advisor who has actually been there.

Finding the highlights at Royalton Saint Lucia 🌴

When I experience a resort firsthand, I’m paying attention to all of it, and there were definitely a few things here that stood out.

The beach is beautiful, with calm Caribbean water tucked into a protected cove. The pools offer plenty of space to spend the day, and reserving a private poolside cabana was a nice way to slow things down and relax.

And the food? That was actually one of the highlights of our stay. Add a glass of w**e, Caribbean views and lunch overlooking the water, and there were certainly some lovely moments. 🥂

Every resort has its strengths, and experiencing them myself helps me understand exactly what those are.

Because finding the right resort isn’t about choosing the prettiest picture online. It’s about finding the one that fits you. 💙
