We have been in business for over 20 years. We have personally traveled extensively around the globe. I was an international flight attendent for 27 years.

My husband and I owned a hot air balloon business that was based in the USA and Germany. We know how important your travel plans are to you and we're here to help you make your dreams come true. Our staff attends continuing education forums and training in the travel industry to stay current with the ever changing world of travel. So sad

Some terribly sad news from Paris this morning. The Marché des Enfants-Rouges, the city's oldest covered food market, has been destroyed by a major fire overnight. Dating back to 1615, this historic market in the Marais had been part of everyday Parisian life for more than 400 years.

The fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, October 12, on Rue de Bretagne in the 3rd arrondissement. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to neighbouring buildings, but the market itself was devastated. Part of its metal structure collapsed, and authorities have confirmed that no members of the public were injured. One firefighter reportedly felt slightly unwell during the operation.

What makes this particularly sad is the history behind it. The market opened during the reign of Louis XIII and took its name from a nearby orphanage where children wore red clothing. Over the centuries, it became a favourite spot for locals and visitors, with fresh produce, cheese counters, florists and little food stalls serving dishes from around the world. It was officially recognised as a historic monument in 1982.

For anyone who loves wandering around the Marais, this is a heartbreaking loss. The market was one of those places where you could stop for lunch, browse the stalls and enjoy a little slice of everyday Paris. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, and authorities are asking people to avoid the area while the damaged structure is secured.
