Hale Malanai Hale Malanai is a 2 bedroom/2 bath vacation home across the street from Baby Beach in Poipu, Kauai.

Cathy and Mike bought this lovely vacation home as a way to escape the West Texas desert. Named after the trade wind that blows through the windows of this home, Hale Malanai is so close to the ocean that the waves lull you to sleep. Hale Malanai is the perfect beach house with a glorious view of the ocean and right across the street from Baby Beach. Two bedroom/Two Bath and fully stocked kitchen, this home away from is the perfect place to absorb all that is Kauai.

We have a colony of neighborhood kitties here in Hoona Road. Each one is part of the official welcome committee. They have all been spayed or Neutered and live very contently greeting our guests. Several guests have mentioned how much they love their “vacation cats”. 🐱 love this sticker from the Kauai Humane Society 😻

Have you had Ube? Ube is a Japanese purple sweet potato. I got a little creative and made Ube French Toast Casserole with an Ube Brioche bread I found. Probably not the healthiest thing to start my morning, but it was heavenly.

The night we went to take a peek there were over 70 turtles on the beach. It was very dark and very difficult to see since you can’t use your flashlight. The volunteers that rope off the area and watch the turtles were super nice and informative.
