Tropical Storm Lala is heading to Hawai’i, bringing plenty of wind and rain—let’s pray she spares our precious cacao flowers! 🍫🌱

These tiny flowers may not look like much, but they are the beginning of something we love so much: Maui-grown cacao and, eventually, chocolate! 🤎

We’re feeling grateful to see our cacao trees holding onto their delicate blooms and hopeful for a beautiful harvest ahead. 🌴✨

Mother Nature keeps us on our toes, but we’ll take the rain, sunshine, and a little bit of luck! 🌧️☀️🍫

🌿 Happy cacao trees are blooming! 🌸

Just look at all of those beautiful cacao blossoms—a sure sign that nature is hard at work. Every flower holds the potential to become a delicious cacao pod.

And do you see the tree standing proudly in the background? That’s Madre de Cacao (Gliricidia sepium), often called the mother tree of cacao. 🌳

Its job is to protect the cacao trees by providing just the right amount of shade, shielding them from strong winds, and filtering the intense tropical sun. This natural partnership helps create the perfect environment for healthy, thriving cacao trees.

Nature truly knows best. 🌱🍫

That’s one of the reasons we love this time of year when our coffee plants are in bloom. Their delicate white flowers fill the garden with the most beautiful, fragrant aroma — a little reminder of how special the journey from flower to coffee bean truly is.
