Kei Cafe got a new tent design, and we love it 🌊

This little slice of coffee heaven is literal steps from the beach and KURE BEACH PIER. You can find Kei Cafe right behind Beach House Burgers next to Ocean Front Park.

Owner Tim Andrews is a true master at his craft, so be sure to stop by and grab a refreshing iced coffee next time you’re at the beach.

*Pro tip: ask for a magic coffee and you won’t be disappointed. This method of brewing yields a low-acidity coffee with natural sweetness you won’t find anywhere else ☕️.

The Kure Beach Island Mosaic Totem Project 🔨🎨

This project is led by the Island Arts Council, and what makes it so unique is that the community has had the opportunity to contribute in a tangible way. With 3 community workshop events, attendees are crafting unique mosaic forms that will be installed on 3 large community totems throughout Kure Beach. There will be 3 additional workshops and totems installed in Visit Carolina Beach, NC.

The first totem will be installed alongside two other artist-made totems at Ocean Front Park. The artists working on the other totems are Trent Taylor and . In the coming months, you will find these totems around the island.

Meet Cicada, the vehicular Kure Beach icon ✌️ 🚐

Many recognize this vibrantly painted van with a tree frog on it that’s parked across the street from the Kure Beach Pier most days of the week.

Local and owner, Jeremiah Vess acquired the run-down bus that had been recently painted by a local artist, Jbird in Carolina Beach. That same artist painted the mural on the ᴄʀᴜꜱʜ ᴀɴᴅ ɢʀɪɴᴅ | ᴄᴀʀᴏʟɪɴᴀ ʙᴇᴀᴄʜ, ɴᴄ building next to the boardwalk.

Jeremiah took it upon himself to bring the van back to life and gave it the love it deserved.

To Jeremiah, Cicada really captures and preserves that slow, laid back vibe that embodies Kure Beach 🌊
