We are saddened to announce that we are closing down our business, La Crosse Segway Tours. It has been quite the adventure and an honor to serve 100’s of groups of people from all walks of life, as young as 10 years to the young at heart people in their 90s, from all over the world. As the highest rated activity in La Crosse with ~ 350 5 star reviews, we’re extremely proud of the high-quality tours that we were able to provide over the last 9 years. Come see why we have over 300 5 star reviews on TripAdvisor! That’s more than any other activity in La Crosse. Riding Segways is just plain old fun! Great for kids age 10 and up. And even if you’re not a kid, it will make you feel like one again!

Lived in La Crosse your entire life? You will still learn a thing or 2 and have a blast! Contrary to popular belief, Segways are self balancing and you will be riding on your own within a couple minutes after 1-on-1 training by an tour guide with 9 years of experience. We never have had to turn someone away because they couldn’t do it!

This will be our last season operating La Crosse Segway Tours. We’ve had many people over the years that have told us in passing…i’m going to do that one of these years. Well, this is the year!

I had taken this tour with friends two years ago and enjoyed it immensely, so when my kid wanted to check it out I was in! La Crosse is the perfect place to check out a Segway tour, with its added perks of the big blue bridges, historic landmarks, and arts, and parks so close to the Mississippi river, Friendship Gardens, and River marsh trails. Hard to decide which one to take. Pettibone does not disappoint.

We met the owner in the alley as instructed, and there was a large family group of adults, and kids in their teens there for the UWL track meet being held this weekend. We all got to practice our turns, and safely learned the technique of operating this very sensitive machine.

Do arrive early, parking can be frustrating especially when there’s something going on (which there always is). Or, if you’re visiting a nearby hotel, or on a river I cruise, consider walking (or Ubering) over. Then we headed out to Riverside Park where the free Thursday concert known as Moon Tunes was setting up. As usual, city was hopping. As one gentleman exclaimed, ‘look it’s a herd of them’. Ha ha.

I now have done the tour with just 3 friends, and with a large sized group of about 10. Both were amazing. Perfect experience for the family to all do something together. Our guide was informative and fun and taking the Segway over the iconic big blue bridges was a treat too. We got to Pettibone park to discover it had recently been under water due to historic flooding, luckily the cleanup is well under way, so they can have a great 2023 season! Bring on the River boats, folks should go reserve a time right now so they don’t get here and find their time gone.
Highly recommend. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity, especially if you’re between the ages of 10 and 90! Perfect to combine with grabbing a bite to eat at moon tunes, or Buzzard Billies on Pearl. Or grab an ice cream cone at The Pearl, it’s all right here. Can’t wait to do the other tours, check out the downtown historic district, or the marsh trails.

The bike trails are officially cleared, there is no more flooding, and the warm weather is here to stay!

We’ve been doing Segway Tours in La Crosse for 8 years now. Last year, we saw a significant decrease in our business. Maybe because it’s a more expensive activity and that’s one of the first things to go during a recession. Maybe it’s because the gas prices were very high so people were traveling less. Or maybe people are just showing less interest in a technology that was invented over 20 years ago. We have decided to introduce E-bike rentals as E-bikes have been exploding with popularity. 

When we started in 2015, there were seven different Segway Tours companies in Wisconsin. Today it is only us and door County.  This year very well may be our last year doing tours unless things change significantly.

If you have never done a Segway tour and would like to, this is the year to make it happen! Most people have a misconception that you need good balance to be able to ride a Segway, or think they would never be able to ride a Segway. They do all the balancing for you, and for most people they’re riding on their own comfortably with a few minutes after the thorough demonstration and training we provide. Feel free to read our 300+ 5star reviews. They are a blast to ride and they’re normally the highlight of everyone’s trip when they visit La Crosse.

We got a present just in time for Christmas, or at least part of it (The rest got delayed from the storm). We are excited to start offering E-bike rentals next season! We’re also doing a much needed overhaul of our website bringing it into the 2020’s. And we’re hoping to lock in an improved space within the building we’re in with visibility to the outside world 🙌🏽 on 4th street, directly next to Duluth Trading Company! Stay tuned for details! Segway tour guide Needed immediately!
Segways are SELF BALANCING and with proper instruction take the average person only a few minutes until they're riding on their own.
Our season is about half way over and we stay pretty steady into the fall with the changing colors. We're looking for someone who can be available for tours on most weekends as well as week day availability.
La Crosse Segway Tours is an exciting tour business. We were the winner of the 2017 Tourism business of the year award and we are the top rated activity on TripAdvisor! This is our 7th season and we operate quality, informative and fun guided Segway tours up to 3-4 times daily, with up to 8 riders per tour. Our tour season runs from March through October/November depending on weather. Most hours will be Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays but there will be plenty of opportunities for tours during the week as well, especially during the summer. Ideal candidates would be someone who has lived in the La Crosse area for all/most of their life, is knowledgeable about the area, willing to learn a little history of La Crosse, outgoing, is safety conscience, and loves to give people a great time. The pay for this job is pretty good considering you will get very generous tips in addition to your hourly pay ($10/hour), not to mention you get to be outside all day riding around on a Segway!

Can you believe summer is already more than half over?! With the return of school on the horizon, we have two of our tour guides that will be leaving us to return to college so we are on the lookout for tour guides! There’s still plenty of season left as we don’t wrap up until late October or early November depending on the weather. We are looking to hire and start someone immediately. Potential candidates would need to be available most weekends as well as have availability during the week. The position pays $10/hour plus tips once fully trained in.
