Spring and fall are the best times to ride Alabama Hills, and they are also clear but cold and windy in the deep winter. When the heat cranks up, you can just hit higher elevations like the dirt road to historic mining town Cerro Gordo, or the twisty road to see the ancient bristlecone pine trees in the White Mountains!

It was an offroad orange bike kind of weekend. I did some of the steepest, loosest, rockiest hill climbs and descents in Otay that I've ever had the misfortune to encounter on the small bike and can't believe I made it out unscathed 😅 The road and trails look to be in good shape after the fire, which is great to see 🔥

Cheers to the squad for always being down to clown on my "can I do this trail on a big bike" expeditions 🍻 hero dirt on Grapevine Canyon after all the rain and snow changed our plan, which was originally to do trails near Idyllwild. The 790 ate it up! 🦈

Scouting Northern AZ trails for motorcycle tours with my co-pawlot and found some good trails and camp spots, as well as some deep sand trails that I wouldn't do on the big bikes!

Exhilarating desert 🏜️ day near Plaster City and Anza Borrego before it reaches 90 there later this week! 🥵 my poor worn knobbies kept bogging and getting stuck in the deep stuff. Time for new tires!

The 790's maiden offroad voyage now that it has knobbies and a proper skidplate! Fred Canyon rd out of Cibbett's Flat to La Posta TT (sadly, Thing Valley Rd is gated off). ➡️ for a free boat. I guess you can park there after all.

The boxer 1200 and 1250 GS motorcycles were rented over New Year's and the renters had a blast journeying to Zion National Park, Joshua tree national park, and Los Vegas! Winter and spring are the perfect time to explore the desert southwest and soak up some sun ☀️ on these smooth, comfortable touring bikes!

Today instead of leading motorcycles, I led a snowmobile tour in a snowstorm ❄️ the desert prepared me for two hours of snow whoops 😀

I hate the early sunsets on standard time, as somebody who lived 18 blissful years without them. I don't much enjoy night riding or wheeling, so I sit at camp wondering what to do from 5-9 pm (🍻 I guess). And, I have no room inside the garage to work now, so I have to work outside and don't have good lighting in my driveway. I bought these little spotlights yesterday to help with my long evenings of maintenance 🛠️ that inevitably go past 5 pm- just my headlamp wasn't cutting it!
