While we are in travel mode, I just came across an incredible cruise itinerary and price. Japan is close to my heart. My daughter lives there, I've been several times already. However, to get the best overview of that country, I think a small ship cruise is the way to go. You don't need to pack/unpack every day, and with Azamara cruises you have a ship that carries 690 passengers, has a lot of ports in the plan and long times in each port to get the most out of the stops. Summer travel is always something I look forward to. It means catching up with the kids, it means adventuring and exploring new areas together, it means making memories that will last. This year my family met in Munich and then explored the Bavarian Alp region and Northern Italy. Bolzano, Verona, Lake Garda and the Valpolicella wine region, Bassano del Grappa, Prosecco valley with a quick hop into Venice, the Dolomites and back to Munich via swimming in the Eibsee. It was a lot but we’ve all really enjoyed every place. And saying goodbye at the end was bitter sweet. Here are some visuals from this fabulous adventure

Louvre and Opera Garnier in one day was a visual feast.
You can’t do the Louvre without a guide or you will spend hours and hours wandering around this amazing museum and get complete overload. We had a guide for 2.5 hours and that was a good thing! Otherwise I might still be there….

Our hotel Prince de Conti in Paris was super cute. Located on the left bank in the Saint Germain district, we were walking distance to anywhere. Worth a visit and begs a repeat!

Our first two days in Paris: we arrived super early in the morning, had a fabulous breakfast in a Creperie Bistro and hopped into Notre Dame early. Then took a Paris tour by Tuk Tuk to get the lay of the land and bridge the time until check in. For the evening we went to Sainte Chapelle and listened to a string quartet concert that was absolutely incredible. The atmosphere of Sainte Chapelle wirh the stained glass windows and the acoustic in that place were just perfect. The next day was all about the Eiffel Tower. Day tour of it to the summit and evening dinner at Madame Brasserie with views over the city. Quite a nice start of our adventure

I’ve spent the last 10 days traveling through Paris, Madrid and Barcelona. Believe it or not, but it was my first ever visit to Paris and it surprised me greatly. What a cool city filled with sights, fabulous restaurants, bakeries, cafes, art… Madrid was interesting and Barcelona incredible, as always. Stay tuned for more details and pictures

On my latest trip to Japan I’ve spent a few days in the Sato islands and toured Naoshima, the famous art island, along with Ogijima island and Megijima island. Seeing the famous pumpkins from Yayoi Kusama in real life was quite amazing. But there were so many art installations to see, it was intoxicating to soak in so much creativity.
