We sat down with local Laguna artist, Candice Brokenshire to talk about the importance of the Laguna art community, her neighborhood of "whimsy" with artists of all mediums, and the marriage of ancestral skills with modern innovation that comes across in her work.
In her Canyon Acres home studio, Candice works with a variety of natural materials, including wool, silk, h**p, cotton, and dried plants from her own backyard that create the dyes in her work. Her vision extends beyond art and into philosophy, with her recent manifesto speaking to how we can come together as a society around wisdom, stewardship, care, and regeneration.
