Happy King Kamehameha I Day 🌺

Today we honor Kamehameha I, the aliʻi (king) who unified the Hawaiian Islands and established the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi in 1810. His leadership helped shape the Hawaiʻi we know today, and his legacy continues to be celebrated across the islands every June 11.

Throughout Hawaiʻi, communities mark the day with traditions including lei draping ceremonies, pāʻū parades, hula, music, and gatherings that honor both the man and the enduring culture of these islands.

For those of us fortunate enough to call Maui home, Kamehameha Day is a reminder that the places we sail, the stories we share, and the traditions that continue today are all part of a much larger history.

As we spend time on the water today, we do so with gratitude and respect for the people, culture, and history that make Hawaiʻi so special.

That’s one of our favorite things about evenings on the water — the way the colors shift by the minute across Maui’s coastline. What starts as soft gold can turn into deep orange, pink, and purple before the sun finally slips behind the horizon.

Skip the crowds and celebrate the Fourth of July from the ocean 🎆🌊

Our limited Fourth of July Fireworks Sails return this year from Māʻalaea Harbor for a special evening of sunset sailing, holiday cocktails, festive menus, and offshore fireworks viewing beneath the stars.

Guests departing from Māʻalaea Harbor will sail toward South Maui for front-row ocean views of the evening’s fireworks shows, while Lahaina holiday sailings will enjoy a special drone light show in place of traditional fireworks as part of ongoing fire prevention efforts in West Maui.

As the sun sets along Maui’s coastline, guests aboard our holiday sails will enjoy warm trade winds, spacious catamaran seating, holiday décor, and our special “Red, White & Booze” cocktail before the evening celebrations begin offshore.

Choose between our relaxed Fireworks Sunset Sail or our elevated Fireworks Dinner Sail featuring smoked brisket, corn on the cob, hot honey cornbread, and apple pie à la mode.

This is one of our most limited holiday events of the year and availability is extremely limited.
