What if I told you that the cheapest resort is actually costing you more? 👀
Not necessarily more money — but more time, less space, fewer amenities, or less of the experience you actually want
When you’re comparing resorts, it’s easy to focus on the nightly price and assume the cheapest option is the best deal. But there’s a little more to consider:
It could cost you TIME
TIME IS MONEY! The less expensive resorts at Disney World typically have fewer transportation options, and some are bus-only. That can mean more time waiting for transportation and getting to and from the parks. When you’re spending several days at the parks, those extra minutes can really add up
It could cost you RELAXATION
If your family loves a pool day (or two!), a basic pool may not be enough to keep everyone entertained. Some of the moderate and deluxe resorts have waterslides, splash pads, and much more elaborate pool areas. If you’re actually going to use those amenities, they can make the higher price worth it!
It could cost you OPTIONS
If you’re a foodie, you may find yourself wishing for more than a quick-service food court at the end of a long park day. Moderate and deluxe resorts tend to have more restaurants and dining options, which can be a pretty big part of the overall experience
It could cost you SPACE
Traveling with 4 or 5 people? Those smaller rooms can start feeling really small once you add luggage, strollers, souvenirs, and everyone’s stuff. Sometimes a little extra space makes a huge difference in how comfortable you are
Im definitely NOT saying you shouldn’t stay at a value resort…I love them! If you don’t care about the pool, don’t need a lot of dining options, and just want a place to sleep between park days, a value resort might be exactly what you need!
You need to ask yourself - what matters most and are we actually getting value from paying more?
Because sometimes the cheapest resort saves you money…but costs you big time in other ways!
