Yes, the rooms are beautiful, but that’s not the main reason shy I think staying Deluxe can be worth the extra cost.
Here’s why I recommend them:
✨ Convenience.
This is the BIG one for me. Some Deluxe Resorts are within walking distance of the parks, which is honestly the ultimate luxury at Disney, especially with young kids who need midday breaks and naps.
Being able to simply walk back to our resort instead of waiting for transportation has saved our family during more than one Disney meltdown. 😂 And depending on where you stay, you may also have easy access to the monorail, Skyliner or boats.
✨Fireworks views.
At some Deluxe Resorts, you can watch the fireworks right from the resort. Of course, watching inside the park is incredible, but the crowds afterward can be intense. Being able to enjoy the fireworks without dealing with the massive exit crowds is such an underrated perk.
✨Amazing dining nearby.
Some of my favorite Disney restaurants are at the Deluxe Resorts. If you’re staying along the monorail, you have incredible dining just a quick walk or monorail ride away.
The same goes for the EPCOT-area resorts. You’re within walking distance of the BoardWalk, Yacht & Beach Club and all of the dining around EPCOT’s World Showcase.
✨Extended Evening Hours.
This is one of my FAVORITE Deluxe Resort perks. On select nights and at select parks, Deluxe Resort guests get additional time in the park after it closes to most guests.
Smaller crowds + lower wait times = you can get SO much done.
Are Deluxe Resorts necessary to have an amazing Disney vacation? Absolutely not. But depending on your family, your priorities and how you like to vacation, the convenience alone can make the upgrade completely worth it.
