This sale represents an important point in our family and our operation. For years, Dad and I have built this program together – investing in genetics, making decisions, taking chances, and chasing the same goal of raising better stock year after year. As we move into the next chapter, we are approaching that transition a little differently than you might expect. This is not a “selling out” sale, and it is certainly not an indication that we are getting out of the business. I will continue to raise livestock, continue to build this program, and continue doing what I love.
But, as Dad and I make this transition, we are treating it like what it has always been to us: a business partnership. That means putting an honest value on the females we have developed together and allowing me the opportunity to purchase his interest in the operation. That is important to me – not simply because of the business side of it, but because of the respect I have for my dad and everything he has invested in me and in this program. He gave me the opportunity to chase this dream, and I am proud to carry it forward.
With that in mind, there are females in this offering that we believe represent significant value to the future of our program. Some may bring more than what you would typically expect to see in a “dispersal” or “rebuild” type offering. That is intentional. We are not putting a price on these females because we have to sell them. We are putting a value on them because we believe in what they are worth and what they can contribute moving forward. For example, there are females in this offering that I would gladly retain at a significant value as I continue to rebuild and shape the next generation of this program. If the right buyer sees that same value, we are willing to let them go. If not, they will continue to have a place here. That is the honest story behind this sale.
We are offering some of the best and most meaningful pieces of our program to you, while remaining committed to the future of what we are building. We hope you see the value, the history, and most importantly, the opportunity represented in this offering.
