Postcards from Prince William Sound - what an incredible sight for guests on Untamed Alaska!

Untamed Alaska guests enjoyed two separate days aboard a privately chartered sightseeing vessel, exploring the breathtaking waters of Prince William Sound. As they cruised through this pristine wilderness, they watched for sea lions, sea otters, harbor seals, puffins, and a variety of whales. The journey also included highlights of visiting the magnificent Columbia Glacier - the largest in Prince William Sound and taking in the beautiful mountainous backdrop of Chugach National Forest.

John Hall’s Alaska Friday Faces – Meet Gigi Gardner

John Hall’s Alaska is thrilled to welcome Gigi to the team! Gigi first came to Alaska in 2017 with the plan to stay just one summer and fulfill a dream—but the beauty of the state and its people kept calling her back year after year.

Born and raised on a cattle ranch in Nebraska’s Sandhills, Gigi’s life has been full of adventure—from rodeos and ranch work to raising four children and now enjoying five grandchildren. She’s a graduate of The Travel Academy in Minnesota and has explored careers in both the airline and cruise industries. She has also worked within training programs supporting new drivers in earning their CDL license.

Her Alaska experience spans from Fairbanks to Ketchikan, the Arctic Circle to Homer, and even cruising the Inside Passage to Vancouver, B.C. She’s also traveled to destinations like Australia, Hawaii, South America, Europe, and the Panama Canal.

When she’s not on the road or traveling, Gigi enjoys hiking, connecting with nature, spending time with her family and dog, researching her ancestry, and riding her horse named Clyde.

John Hall’s Alaska Friday Faces - Meet Claudia Gallimore

New to the team this season, Claudia brings her extensive experience behind the wheel and love for travel to John Hall’s Alaska.

Originally from the Shenandoah Valley in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, she relocated to Central Florida in 1988. With a long-standing career in both trucking and motorcoach driving, she officially retired from full-time driving in 2016. However, her passion for travel and the road continued, leading her to seasonal driving opportunities in Alaska—where she has now spent three seasons immersed in the unique landscapes and experiences the state offers.

When not driving, she enjoys exploring destinations around the globe, with Italy standing out as a personal favorite she hopes to revisit often. Along the way, discovering and indulging in great cuisine have become a favorite hobby and part of her global adventures.

Postcards from Denali National Park and Preserve

This week, 156 Grand Slam Alaska guests embarked on an unforgettable journey aboard the glass-domed cars of the Alaska Railroad, enjoying GoldStar Service from Fairbanks to Denali. Upon arrival, a surprise visit from a moose welcomed them to the Denali National Park!

Both evenings were spent at Denali Cabins - just eight miles from the park entrance. On one of those nights, guests were treated to a special presentation by four‑time Jr. Iditarod champion Emily, Robinson Racing Kennel, who shared captivating stories and insights from herJr. Iditarod experiences—truly a highlight of the stay!

On Wednesday, they boarded the sightseeing bus for a wilderness adventure traveling 42-mile drive deep into Denali National Park, where guests immersed themselves in the park’s natural history while keeping an eye out for bears, caribou, and other wildlife. The day wrapped up with a serene evening overlooking the breathtaking Nenana River Canyon and surrounding wilderness.

Today, the excitement continues as guests may choose to enhance their time spent in Denali National Park by rafting, flightseeing, ziplining, or going on an ATV adventure. Next stop, Talkeetna!
